Understaffed. Dirty. Unfinished refurbishment. Don't waste your money! On first approach, the hotel looks nice but it soon crumbles as there is no car parking available. We had to pay £6 to park our car in the parking lot next door. Upon walking in, no one greets you. No one was at reception. After waiting 10 minutes and having several staff members pass us hurriedly we were still not attended to. When someone did finally ask they waited for us to speak first rather than them opening with: "good afternoon, how can I help?" Seems very badly managed and staff could do with retraining on customer service. I expected more coming down south... the North is better than this! The member of staff explained that they had a wedding on and would try to help, but they did not have the training to help so couldn't... They had to call the manager over who finally issued us our key. The room looks good on the surface level, but is awful under further inspection. The curtains had stains on them and clearly needed washing. The tea caddy was covered in dust. The "double bed" was two singles pushed together. Mold in the bathroom. Grout all over the floor tiles??? I wouldn't expect this in my own home - certainly not in a hotel! Two shower heads, one of which didn't work? No soap by the sink. A telephone by the end tables but with no booklet to explain anything to call reception so it was redundant. To top it all off, the lock was bad and we returned to an unlocked room? A member of staff saw our shocked expressions and freely admitted the locks are terrible! It doesn't stop there! Woke up at 9am to head down for breakfast to be told breakfast stops being served at 9am... and no breakfasts are served on Mondays? We were offered no money back as the member of staff said only the manager knew how to do that (reoccurring theme here of the manager not training staff). Exposed wires are all over the "hotel" (more like hostel at this point) which is a health accident waiting to happen. I'll be contacting Fire & Rescue because it certainly isn't above board. Also, the wedding music also went on till 2am, do we couldn't sleep at all. If you want a hotel from your nightmares, stay here!

We have recently had a wonderful stay here, and would highly recommend it. Angie and Lee were fantastic hosts and we couldn’t have been made to feel any more welcome, it was like staying with friends. Also another special mention for Hannah and Grant who also work here, both equally as friendly and welcoming. We were given a lovely room, clean, tidy and spacious, overlooking their beautiful garden. The bar area was warm, cosy and inviting with a roaring open fire and very comfortable. Due to attending a function elsewhere we were unable to dine for the evening here, but enjoyed a lovely home cooked breakfast the following morning. We had such a lovely stay that we are already planning to return for another visit. This is a beautiful setting used for weddings, to stay for business or just to relax and unwind. Thank you to you all for a lovely visit and we will see you all again soon :-)

The staff were friendly enough, the bar is small but was crowded, this lead to a lengthy wait for service. They do have everything you would expect from a bar though. They catered for a party of 30 with relative ease from a set menu that we ordered ahead. Most of our group felt that there was not enough starter to provide everyone with a starter and the main Thai curry had the same problem. What I ate though was enjoyable. Some of the desserts were still frozen when they came out, its understandable that they were not immediately fresh, but if they are not meant to be frozen dessert, removing them from the freezer early enough before serving to avoid this seems like a practical thing to do.On the whole, the food was decent and the atmosphere was good.

Siam Smile restaurant was Megalicious!!! Fantastic food made by a 74 year old chef that knows his art. Lovely ambience, good portion sizes, reasonably priced and great attentive service. They also run a shop if, like me, you like to cook Thai food. Enjoy 😘

Stayed here twice recently. Location is great and amesbury is lovely. The rooms are of a high decorative standard at first look but smaller details need addressing. Notably on the second room I stayed in which was a double( two single beds pushed together) the room itself was 4 star but the bathroom was 2 star. It's as if the money ran out half way through the refurbishment.tv also didn't work on most channels. Staff were helpful and the the room was clean. I didn't have the breakfast or try the in house Thai restaurant so cannot comment on that.

It's 1 o'clock in the morning. We are in room 6 in the row of rooms closest to Ruby's nightclub next door. How on gods earth are people supposed to sleep with the volume of music that's coming from next door. It's making the windows shake. The staff here are lovely but I feel very sorry for them. You cannot run a hotel next door that racket. How it's going to be resolved is anyone's guess. I will be complaining first thing this morning as we are supposed to be staying another night. Other residents are allowing their doors to slam and iv just heard the lad next door throwing up. Shame really. Like I say the staff are great and the garden outside is nice and great for our dog to run around in but this noise is a deal breaker for me. Its awful. I'm sorry to say this as if you read any of my other reviews I try to be as positive as possible. If you can stand the sound of very loud music and drunk people having a good time happy in their ignorance that they are ruining visitors experience of amesbury then this is the place to stay. Proper annoyed.

Enjoyed a lunch in the garden. There was work in progress inside, l guess in readiness for a lifting of present-day restrictions. A charming lady served. Have to say the boisterous children could have been less so, as difficult to hear at times, but coped, so overall a place l would go again.
