The Barge Inn Restaurant in Wiltshire

Eight of us and four dogs visited for lunch yesterday. The humans chose fish and chips. The fish was wonderful with a crisp flavoursome light batter. The chips were chunky, the tartar sauce seemed homemade and delicious.And the mushy peas were fresh and minty.The service was great and the staff very friendly. The setting is wonderful just on the canal but as it was chilly we ate nside. Loved the fact that we were seated at a large round table which meant we could chat with everybody.We have recently moved to the area and feel blessed to have The Barge close by.

What a lovely setting the Barge Inn is in the quiet village of Seend Cleeve. It is situated on the Kennet and Avon canal,here you can receive a warm welcome from your hosts where you can choose to eat in or outside as there is a large marquee with heating in place and plenty of seating. There is a large car park . It is disable friendly staff are very friendly also,on Sunday it is best to book a table especially if you choose to eat indoors. The Barge Inn also welcomes dogs 🐕 and well behaved owners. You can book for special occasions here also.

Warm and welcoming on a cold day. Service was excellent (Alex) very knowledgable and willing to help. Food excellent but portion size was modest at best (only 4 stars). Beer well kept and white wine was cold and the glasses were clean! Great location with a great view!

Love this pub. Camp up along the canal path about a mile or so and when we do we come here often. Last summer sat out admired the canal, and recently inside. Dog friendly, friendly staff, some going over and above, long dark haired young girl called Tiana served us, very good at her job! Food good real ale even better!

My wife and I went for lunch today with my mother, brother and brothers partner. We had delicious food the vegan options were really good. We were served by a really lovely lady with a great sense of humour that really added to our experience. Never got her name but she had a ponytail and dark brown hair. Definitely will be coming back!

Very pleasant pub, on the Kennett and Avon canal. Friendly staff and a good menu, everything priced reasonably, all good.

Superb from start to finish. Lovely welcome from the manager. Attentive but unobtrusive service. Great Sunday roast served, lovely desserts. Try the bread and butter pudding (order an extra scoop of ice cream with it). Thanks very much.

Great location on the canal, easy walk from Devizes Camping & Caravan Club site. Very good beers and delicious food with reasonable prices. Plenty of outside covered seating too.

Such a beautiful setting. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. Food was absolutely lovelyWe visited for lunch and portion size was good.We ordered mac and cheese for the little one too, it was such a big portion she didn't even make a dent in it really.We will definitely visit again for a main evening meal as the food did look and smell incredible.

Beautiful setting along the canal, very friendly staff and good choices of food. Starters and desserts delicious, the main skewers were disappointing - flat bread was very stodgy and the Mediterranean couscous wasn't to our liking with sultanas and spices. Would definitely return as the fried food options looked good at other tables.
