Mark has recently taken on the barleycorn inn.I stayed here for nearly a month.Accommodation was fantastic, very clean and maintained very well. The pub is a great local pub that welcomes visitors with open arms and the regular drinkers and eaters are also very pleasant.Mark him self goes above and beyond and always does a great job in hosting , pouring and cooking .Great menu and food cooked well. Will definitely return and recommend to anyone be it a pint , meal or room that they require.Highly recommended.

Lovely pub. Our new local having recently moved to the area. We have visited several times with visiting family. Food is lovely and staff very friendly and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere too and looking forward to the roaring fire in the winter with a Sunday roast!

My husband book the deluxe room for our anniversary 26/06/21, we were very disappointed in the room, tiny double bed (husband 6ft 5) and not very clean. Offered another room which was accessed up a windy staircase, much the same standard of hygiene and I have Rheumatoid Arthritis too, so stairs a nightmare in the evening. We left, she refused to offer Half of the £80 payment as a good will gesture, all other rooms were empty- I see why. Pub looked lovely and I’m sure the food would have been great. Now in a clean fresh travel lodge with a lovely pub next door. Next time I may book myself as photography can be very deceiving!

Wonderful food, Great service,We live locally and thought we'd give it a try on the last day of' 'Eat Out to Help Out' We are SO glad we did. I can't believe no-one had told us how good this place is.The food is great, the service was warm, welcoming and efficient. We each had main course and pudding, as the dessert menu was so tempting with homemade treats. The steak, was cooked to perfection as was my Sea Bass. My 10 year old enjoyed her scampi and the 9 yr old had squid from the starter menu as a main course with fries. The squid was really good, very tasty not at all chewy. We will definitely be going again soon.
