We came for a roast dinner and one plate had two roast potatoes the other three and the other 4, one plate had half a carrot and another none. The lamb was mostly just fat, I understand being a bit fatty because it's lamb but not that bad. We then had a pudding which was expensive and all I can say about that was it was like slop in a cereal bowl. I would never come here again.

Fantastic pub. Been back twice now in a space of a month! Love the food, the fish and chips are so delicious. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Speed of service is very good, prices are decent. Will definitely return.

For us not an entirely pleasant experience.Nearly nine quid for a gin&tonic, our table was on a main thoroughfare through the pub, and pretty much every time someone walked past my chair was kicked or my shoulder brushed. The food was ok, although the staff maybe could do with note pads to remember both our drinks orders and food orders, as it took a few attempts to get ours correct, in the end we have up, just because we all wanted to eat our meals together and not have to wait for the mistakes to be corrected. For what we had food and drinks wise, the bill was chunky to say the least, and proved very difficult for the staff to work out how to half it for two couples, interesting discussions were had.Would I go back to eat, no probably not, would I recommend, in fairness no I don't think so.Maybe we weren't their target customers, or maybe we just caught it on a bad day.

It's one of those perfect stops on a long journey. The pub itself feels old and cosy, staff is very accommodating, friendly, cheerful, helpful. They really made our stay very enjoyable. We much enjoyed our meals and drinks too

The food, the service, the atmosphere, selection of drinks - all world class. The Korean BBQ scotch egg is probably one of the best things I've ever eaten. Fish & Chips exceptional, as is the Broccoli risotto. Sadly didn't get to try a Sunday roast, but it looked incredible! Absolutely lovely staff here, a must try if you're in the area.

Good food, friendly staff. Was a nice experience. Prices are a bit high but all together was worth it.

A lovely evening out, limited menu but really good quality food. Staff great and nothing too much trouble

This is a special place. Excellent venue and food. A lot of money has been spent on revitalising this Inn. It is part of a small, but significant group of inns in the Chickpea group. It used to be on the busy A303 road. Now bypassed, the fact that the inn was busy on a dull, foggy day, indicates that the Bell and Crown have got it right.

A well appointed, warm venue with excellent staff serving hearty fair and good beer. Winter menu was a hit with us. Good choice for a low key intimate meal or dinner with friends.

Really nice pub. Uninspiring beer/ale options but general feel of the place is great. Great outdoor space with heaters and blankets and cosy inside with log fires. Will definitely be back to try the food.
