Cosy inn with wood-burning stove and large canalside garden, serving cask ales and classic pub fare.

Nice country pub with new management. Made to feel very welcome and staff made a fuss of our new puppy. Pleasant garden with chickens to entertain. Good range of Wadworth ales and other draught drinks. Menu is good pub food. Will be booking to eat there soon.

Me and my co-hiker Ed stumbled upon this lovely pub just as they were about to close the kitchen but happily kept it open to serve us a lovely pie and mash. The food was great and reasonably priced and the staff were friendly.

Such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere from the new landlords and all their staff. Beautiful pub, lush garden and the canal on the doorstep. The food is lovely too!

Under new management. Have to say the staff are lovely but the pub was very busy and they had no tables for over an hour and we were pretty hungry. Thought we would stay for a latte instead but coffee machine was broken so sadly we didn't stay but will be trying again as we have heard good things

Under recent new management, cannot fault the lovely new owners and very friendly staff (including the adorable pub dogs!). Amazing food in a fantastic location, right on the canal. Nice big open garden which is perfect for kids. Definitely reccomend and will be back!

Wish I could leave 0 stars! Worst pub in and around Devizes area for sure! (Especially after new management!)Family of 4, we booked a table, arrived and not one of them seemed to know what they were doing, we ordered our drinks and tried to pay, no one would take the money we actually had to ask if we pay here or at the end to which we got âummm I donât know, are you on a table?â Which we replied âyesâ, and they still seemed unsure, anyway we sat down and waited for a menu⊠same girl dropped her note pad down in front of me and swore loud enough for the people stood at the bar to hear!no menu was presented we get told there are only 3 options, pork roast, beef roast or vegan sausages option⊠that is literally it! Appalling! We all decide we would like beef (no price or menu presented so we were left to assume and guess what we would get on our plates and how much they would cost)Dinners arrived 35 minutes after ordering them which honestly was the best bit about the service (not too long) however when they arrived we all looked down at our food in disbelief all most likely thinking the same (whereâs the rest!!?) we sat there patiently waiting for condiments (which never arrived) and veg to come out which wasnât much either I believe it was just cauliflower cheese and gravy both enough to feed 1 maybe 2 at a push (NOT 4!)Two of our partyâs Yorkshire pudding was cremated and one bounced when we dropped it in the middle of the table, the meat was cold on all 4 of our plates, all the veg seemed very limited yet burnt, flavourless and bare. I believe we had cold pees, 1 very small parsnip about the size of a thumb and two small black cremated things which turned out to be beetroot! One party member believed beet root should not go on a roast dinner but thatâs besides the point, it was so black along with the rest of the meal we couldnât tell what was what! The gravy was honestly so watery I think if it was in a glass you would be able to see through it and thatâs NOT an exaggeration in the slightest! I believe everyone had 2 roasties each which both on every plate were mega hot compared to the rest of the cold meal and must of been microwaved, either that or the rest of the meal was sat there for at-least 10 minutes waiting for the roasties (which isnât on!)After a few minutes of discussing between OURSELVES that the food is cold, service has been appalling and if we should or shouldnât walk out and just pay for the drinks a snotty lady from behind the bar bellowed âwhatâs wrong with it thenâ instead of politely coming over and apologising and asking us whatâs wrong with the meal privately she decided to do it from the bar to which I decided - Iâll reply right where I am as well, I told her what was wrong with it, again no apology she just picked up the plates and thatâs when one of the party said âwe will pay for the drinks and leaveâ I mentioned to my partner privately that the food was damn right appalling⊠as she barged past us with our four plates she added âthereâs no need to swearâ I think something must of upset her and she wanted to argue, maybe because we didnât eat the awful food? One final complaint, ÂŁ17 almost for two cokes, one peroni (bottle 350ml) and one gin and lemonade (I was asked when to stop with the lemonade) there really wasnât much gin in the glass to begin with!Anyway I have to say Iâm going to leave an outstanding review on Toby carvery as we immediately called them as we left and the squeezed us in just 25 minutes later and the food was out of this world - as always.I think Iâve been there roughly 6-7 times and not once have I had anything to complain about in the slightest!People must understand the bridge inn is under new management so any reviews 3 weeks prior to this date were reviews based on old management!Do not waste your time or money here!I barley every leave reviews especially bad ones! But this I feel was 100% warranted and I cannot stress enough I am not expressing out of anger just disbelief!

We just visited. Thereâs New ownership (April 22). Sometimes that makes you think will it be as nice as the previous excellent carvery . I can say yes wholeheartedly. The new owners are attentive and fun. Staff were great with the kids. Food was excellent, weirdly good carrots đ. Everything was Well presented, tasty and I feel good value. Good vibes all round. Driven past here for many years but eventually got around to walking to The Bridge Inn from Devizes and it was a great destination to arrive at. A cozy bar, lovely flagstones and Wadsworth beers on the canalside terrace made it a place I will come back to.
