Went for a meal with the family, seated quickly and drinks order taken.Food order taken and arrived rather quickly and was good, then nothing. No one came to ask if our meal was ok, no one came to ask if we wanted dessert or the bill, we had to go to the bar and ask for the bill.We would’ve had desserts, but after 30 minutes sitting with dirty plates on the table we decided against staying longer.Seems staff were too interested in waiting on new tables and cleaning the empty ones rather than checking if customers that are already there are ok.

Make sure you are hungry when eating here!Great portions, excellent service and nice environment.Did not feel rushed to eat up and vacate the table.Staff were all amazingly helpful and chatty. Thanks for the lovely meal.

Nice decor and the place seems clean. Staff were pleasant when approached but unfortunately I cannot agree that they were 'attentive' like others have claimed.Sunday dinners were very average with hardly any gravy and chewy beef. Chicken dinners were small. Steak & Ale pie was bland.Overall, food was brought out relatively quickly (but then the place was almost empty). Tables and cutlery clean but no condiments. Food quality was very average at best and quantity was desperately lacking. Even when asked "is everything okay with your meal?" And the above mentioned - nothing was done. What's the point in asking? Is it because the average punter just smiles and waves? This place used to be pretty good... but during today's visit it's really fallen short of expectations. I can't say that I'm surprised to see so many empty seats.Won't be returning and would not recommend. There are far superior alternatives locally.

Stayed at the lodgings next door and came over for breakfast. We had a number of allergies in the group and Millie was superb, nothing fazed her she took it upon her self to speak to the chef to confirm what we had seen on the app was correct and came back to let us know what was happening. The food was delicious, well cooked and served hot.If you have allergies they really do help and if you have Millie then it's a bonus!

Pub was nice and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. My only negative was having to pay ÂŁ4.50 each for my kids to use the soft play area in a place where you are already paying for food and drinks I'd of liked this to be free but I guess they gotta make as money as possible just was an expense I wasn't expecting. Other than that we enjoyed our meal there.

Went for breakfast. It was value for money, and the food was delicious. A Saturday morning, I could have quite happily stayed there and drank more coffee. I had a vegetarian breakfast, my partner the meaty full English. We were both full, and it was easy for my partner to have the black pudding removed when ordering. There's a fair amount of seating, a bit of a draft by the windows, but then it's an old building. It's wheelchair accessible too.

Stopped off here on our way back from Butterfly World. The service was top notch, pub was very clean and the food was great too. If I lived closer, this would be my local without a shadow of a doubt. Lovely character, a nice sized room set out for the kids to play in was a nice addition too. If you're passing by, I'd definitely suggest stopping off here.

The food is average pub grub, however staff were super friendly and attentive. I did enjoy the wine, excellent glassware which in my opinion improves the drinking experience. Our daughter really enjoyed playing in the whacky warehouse and I love how you can eat inside the play area. I had no problems paying for the playtime it kept her entertained and allowed us to relax.
