The Dog and Fox in Wiltshire

A nice little Inn and pub. Went there for dinner and it did not disappoint! It was a busy Saturday night, and the atmosphere was very nice and family friendly.Ordered a Meat Pie, and it was very tasty. After our dinner we had a lovely chat with the owner of the pub.The service was great, and so was the food! Definitely would go again if we are ever back in town.

This would be a 5 star review if they had just one good modern craft beer on tap. The food and atmosphere are excellent but I can't drink Landlord all night.

Wow fabulous Sunday lunch. Eaten regularly in the evenings but first time for lunch.Always think twice about going out for Sunday lunch as my partner Nigel is an excellent chef ..we always have at least 8 veggies at home so why risk being disappointed.But we were so delighted. Apart from the perfectly cooked beef there were 9 delicious veggies...roast beetroot, carrots, parsnips (an essential), potatoes, creamed swede, green beans, braised red cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli cheese.Then Sam tempted us with the dessert menu...oh crikey.. perfectly cooked choc sponge and a crumble.Now we're rubbing over-stuffed tummies reading the Sunday paper and have booked for next Sunday! Get calling before there's no tables available!!

The Dog and Fox continues to evolve, but the welcome remains as warm as ever.Catering is now provided with partners Jack's Kitchen, who are providing a diverse selection of high quality food from Thursday to Saturday, and an utterly superb traditional roast every Sunday. You won't find anything better in this part of Wiltshire, I promise!What hasn't changed is the essential character of the Dog, which comes from the people you find there. It's something that no clever interior designer can recreate - the authenticity of a traditional Wiltshire country pub. Everyone here is made to feel welcome and at home. There is always conversation to be had, always a warm fire, always time to relax in good company.Congratulations are due to Clive and his son George for coming up with this magic formula - as a traditional local pub, and as a mouthwatering eatery, the Dog in partnership with Jack's Kitchen is an absolute winner.

A traditional old fashioned boozer accompanied with delicious English Fayre. We had a table for 8 (3 kids) for Sunday lunch. The roast diners were so tasty and the food was delicious. The puddings were amazing, thank you for a great afternoon and for amazing attentive service.!😍

Superb food, very well priced, brilliant staff and all round great place, lovely log fires, cosy, warm and just all round fantastic evening on a dark windy November. Highly recommend and looking forward to Sunday lunch!!!

Lovely old style country pub with cask beer and traditional cider Nice garden too

I just wanted to say a big thank you to Clive, the staff and the regulars/locals, at the Dog and Fox. For making us so welcome when we ‘crashed’ this characterful country pub, for the ‘Football’ yesterday evening.Six of us on a Barge at Bradford on Avon, on a ‘loud-shirt-stag do’, had been trying to ‘secure’ a venue to watch the game. With demand being so great and some parties booking, then failing to show (especially over the last 16 covid, restricted months), landlords and venues were reticent to take our booking.Clive, said we would be welcome and that they would look after us. We arrived a little later than anticipated soaking wet in the monsoon (no planned afternoon in the ‘sunny’ beer garden then). The game was on in a converted ‘Stable/piggery’ with big screen, robust trestle tables and ‘Persian’ carpets! Our party was drinking a broad selection of Ales and Stout, all of which were fantastic. The weather had washed out the outdoor pizza oven and burger bar. But again, the landlord made sure we got fed.We are all experience ‘country pub attendees’, and we loved the ‘old school’ character and hospitality shown to us last night. The Dog & Fox Bradford on Avon, Highly Recommended! (Shame about the football result!)Cheers Greg.
