Excellent pub. Nice and friendly, wide selection of quality beer on tap and great burgers.I wish there were more pubs like this.

Only had a drink here. First time as well and was very impressed. Very friendly staff. Lovey old building. Great range of drinks and the food looked amazing. Of the beaten track but well worth the effort. I will be back to try the food. Prices were reasonable. Would give this place more stars if I could

I imagine this place is fantastic for evening drinks or meals but tea and cake is definitely not to be recommended! We were informed that ' only one cake' was available- lemon drizzle. It sounded great so we ordered two teas and two slices of cake at £5 each. So far so good.Sadly I suspect that there was only one SLICE of cake left- which was divided so thinly between us, it was falling apart. It was not lemon drizzle cake but plain madeira with lemon juice squirted thereon. But the worst part of all was that the big teapot ( probably for three) contained only one teabag and thus just hot water. I tried to attract he who acted like the head man to ask for another teabag but he never looked in our direction. We chose the wrong place as it was Wed afternoon and The Dandelion nearby was closed ...but the barman couldn't have been more helpful.

Bravo to the cook!!! Completely unexpected Superior food. Everything perfectly and carefully cooked with great combinations of flavours. We loved all the options we ordered and were really impressed. Oh and if you love dessert the selection is great and portions extremely generous! Our new favourite in the way from london to wales!

This is a very friendly traditional pub, much favoured by residents of Royal Wootton Bassett. It's position just off the high street, near the town's famous old town hall which is raised up on pillars, is one of continuity with local history - you can count on it to provid you with a traditional English pub experience. They have just updated their menu, this caters for all tastes, old and new and those with food allergies. They have an excellent choice of drinks, from cider, beer, spirits to a variety of modern coffees. Parking is not a problem, there is a large council car park available just around the corner outside the Sainsbury's supermarket, which is just a 5 minutes walk away, or you maybe lucky to find a free space on the street. Recommend a visit, for a drink or a meal. Am sure you'll receive a warm Wiltshire welcome.

We had a fabulous meal last night and the staff were as usual fantastic, it was spoilt by a family with two dogs who allowed them on the table. They were fed and given water on the table which is deeply uhygienic. Humans eat on these tables and I think the staff should have said something. Dogs belong on the floor not on restaurant tables.

This place has been brilliant throughout the pandemic. It's a real pub, there aren't many left. Real ales and lovely food, along with crisp draught lagers too! The outside space is covered and heated and staff are brill. Highly recommend their burgers and the ham egg n chips is brill too. Always excited to go back!

A very hospitable welcome to this lovely village pub nestled away in a side street off the high street.A large tempting selection of beverages await your visit. There is plenty of choice for everyone in your group.Whilst I didn't eat at The Five Bells, the food I did see being served looked very nice indeed.A second visit including lunch or dinner is very much on the cards.Currently they are operating a table service only, although be sure to check before arriving / booking.

What a gem of a place! We called in here after a days trip to Bristol. The owners are the most loveliest people I’ve ever met, and their staff are just as friendly too. The food is absolutely beautiful and all home made; proper pub food made with love. The prices are very reasonable too. I love the decor and ambience of the place; the regulars love to chat to us strangers too! 😂Hands down recommend this place and will call again if in the area.
