Trio of Pork steaks Chinese style were fab. Nice red cabbage coleslaw with apple side dish was really good. Chips ok. Nice staff. Clean loos . Huge carpark was a bonus

A very pleasant lunch. Food was hot and tasty, service cheerful and swift. Had the 'smaller' portion of the fish cake which was more than adequate (nice to have the choice rather than leave food) and the key lime pie was lovely.Only 4 stars as couldn't see any sanitising gel to use on arrival and leaving and didn't see any disinfectant spray used when a table was cleaned. (11.2.2022).

Wonderful meal and atmosphere, wth friendly hospitable staff.

Four of us had a very pleasant lunch today. The food was very good and not overpriced. The service we received was excellent. Two young ladies looked after us so well we would all recommend this pub.

Often meet up here with my friend for a lunchtime drink or sometimes a meal in the evenings with our partners. Always friendly staff and licensee, good pint of beer with two or three real ales on hand pump. Food is tasty and reasonably priced, in the warmer weather has a good sized garden with children’s play area.

We had a fabulous Sunday roast- perfectly cooked and very tasty. We have been many times over the years- consistently good food and comprehensive menu. Efficient and friendly staff. Can well recommend.

Great pub, friendly attentive staff and excellent pub food. I hate walking into a pub and being ignored while staff get on with other things which happens all too often these days. None of that here, the barmaid was serving someone else but immediately said she'd be with us on a minute then a moment later the landlord returning from clearing a table came straight over to serve us.The pub itself is a good size and even though it was busy it didn't feel crowded.A good selection of beers and I went for an IPA I've not seen before. Again, the landlord was knowledgeable about his beers and offered useful advice. We ordered some food, I chose the burger & my friend ham egg & chips. It appeared quickly and was really very good for the money. The burger was properly cooked, very tasty and the chips & salad good. The ham was home cooked and generously sliced, no packet fare here, and the eggs were just right.Definite recommend, we'll go there again.

Stopped for a drink and a meal, sitting outside in the garden on a fabulous October lunchtime. Good traditional pub menu with specials board too. My chicken with cream spinach and mushroom was delicious 😋 definitely not supermarket chicken plus plenty of veg (not cooked to a smush) just how I like it - perfect. ThanksPs there's s couple of nice walks from the centre of the village to waymarked routes - just enough exercise to work up an appetite ☺️

This was the 2nd visit in two weeks. The 1st at the end of June was on the off chance of a pub open mid afternoon for food whilst waiting for my wife’s car being serviced in Salisbury. We are from Blandford.What can we say, what a find. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal, staff were extremely friendly and the garden and covered areas were atmospheric and quiet even tho next to the A354!!We enjoyed it so much that our 2nd visit we brought our mother and husband for a birthday meal. Both of them really enjoyed themselves and loved the food.Although we are from Blandford we will be making a regular visit, especially to try the black board specials! Fantastic family place and great hospitality.
