The George and Dragon in Wiltshire

Simply superb!Idyllic garden seating.Staff were good humoured even at the end of a packed Mothering Sunday.Three courses for five people were delivered quickly and without fuss.The food was beautifully presented yet decent portion sizes and tasted wonderful.No complaints over the drinks either.If the parking was a little larger this would be a 6 out of 5.

Lovely pub, with a good atmosphere, but I was left underwhelmed at some rather overpriced food. The food was tasty, but the dishes felt rather unfinished, which makes the premium price difficult to justify. For example the Prawns, at £28 for a main course consisted of around 8 prawns in a shallow bisque. Both the prawns and the bisque were delicious, but the dish was crying out for something to mop up said bisque, whether that be bread, chips, or a green salad. Instead one was left with a plate of shells sat in a nice sauce. Equally with the steak for the same price. A nicely cooked piece of steak on a plate of sauce, with some chips in a separate bowl. Again, it just felt to be missing something, some green vegetables, a side salad, something. A shame, because the food was tasty, and clearly expertly cooked, but the presentation needs more thought. The same was true of all the dishes our party had, with the exception of the fish and chips, which were excellent.All in all the food was good, the pub is nice, but more effort is needed to justify what is a very premium pricing strategy.

We booked Sunday 3rd April 2022 for lunch in the outside area with heating. What a delight. Blankets, water bottles on tap and being veggies, we e Dulles in a great 3 course meal menu. You guys have made our visit great and you earned your tip just in water bottles😁. Shame everyone else in the area seems to serve just standard country food, but to your advantage.

We went here for the first time on mothers day. We were sat in the garden, in the potting shed which was a lovely private space. The food was absolutely excellent and the staff attentive without being intrusive. We will definitely be going here again.

Stayed for a night; slightly quirky accommodation but good value AND great staff, super friendly, and amazing food in the evening. The kitchen definitely punches above its weight.

Absolutely amazing food, no request is too much and always made to feel like we are their best customers. We'll done Chippy and team, we love our visits ❤

Great food, great service, and lovely setting. Perhaps a little on the pricey side (4 people, one bottle of wine, mains and desserts each came to £172 Inc tip) but we would still recommend it and be back. Definitely book ahead at the moment

We moored our narrow boat at Rowde and walked into the village to "rehydrate".The George and Dragon is about a 20 minute walk from the K&A.Greeted by a very friendly member of staff and we were escorted to the delightful walled garden to order our drinks.Staff are very good. Menu is excellent, especially if you like fish.We will definitely be returning!

Just a really wonderful restaurant in a pub run by awesome owners. Been bright, friendly and welcoming everytime we have been in the last 17 years.Fresh fish delivered every day.Unpretentious.Lovely garden.It knows what it is. It isn't trying to be something its not. They serve delicious, beautifully crafted food and I highly recommend it for a special meal out.

Fantastic staff, very happy to help out and meet your needs. One of the best pub gardens I've been in. Safe, secluded, secure if you've got toddlers. Plus if it gets a bit chilly there's a couple of patio heaters on the covered decking area. Always look forward to visiting here.
