Nice friendly atmosphere. Regular guest beers which change a lot and all taste good. Food great. My mother is allergic to gluten and the cook did her gluten free fish n chips which she loved. Large portions too. I’d recommend this pub to anyone.

First-class country pub. Everyone extremely friendly and helpful. Beers are well kept and different beers regularly on offer. Food is as it should be. Tasty, locally sourced, well priced and generous portions. I shouldn't be telling you how good it is, it might get too popular !!

Booked a table after reflecting on old times, it had been 18 or so years since last here. On arrival we were greeted with a smile and offered a table of our choice. Menu's (during covid time) were adequate but the star here was the Hunter game pie.Oh my days, this was a plate to die for. More broad beans than I grew all last year and the medley of colours to the carrots out shone the huge offering of chunky chips and blooms of broccoli. However the splendid selection of vegetables did not prepare me for the wow factor that came with the pie. A robust pastry held together a plethora of tastes and textures of hearty meats, filled up with gravy and carrot.I was not going to let the chef down, however the chips had to come second best, the plate beat me.I will be back for more.

So glad we found this beautiful little pub on our drive out today.Made to feel very welcome by the very friendly staff.Had lunch, Scampi, Steak and Kidney pie, and the Venison stew with dauphinoise potatoes, very tasty and all ample meals, even our dog was treated to some biscuits ! We will definitely return in the future.

Fabulous country pub with great food, amazing service and a brilliant atmosphere! Came for lunch for husbands birthday and had just the very best time! Will definitely be back!!!

Friendly pub with local ales. Staff made us welcome and looked after us (and our dog!) really well. The duck cherry and brandy pie was something special and well worth a try and the local seasonal veg that came with it a good accompaniment.

Not too bad. Lovely decor. Got a roast dinner and glass of coke. Carrots a little over done, Cabbage stunning, broad beans lovely. Beef - chewie and full of fat. Potatoes I really liked partner wasn't keen. Crispy on the out side(like pork crackling crispy) Yorkshire pudding - not home made or aunt besies (not for me) and gravy made from meat juices, if you don't like gravy mention when you order as it's already on the plate. Over all it wasn't bad but my dog loved it. Cost £37.50 2 drinks and 2 meals.

What a great pub which has a garden, fairly large marque plus tables on the front patio! They are very generous with the food portions so you might like to share a light bite as a starter rather than have one each..We had lobster bisque, pate, tempura prawns followed by hake, ham & eggs & rare beef salad- yumm
