Called in here during a walk around Tollard Royal during a Saturday lunch time . The beer was good and not too expensive. We sat outside on the impressive terrace built into the side of the hill beyond the car park in the sunshine and had our lunch. We would go there again.

Booked for a last minute weekend break. Great countryside location, breakfast was perfect, dinner very nice although limited menu. Our room (3) had a few minor issues, the shower was not ideal as the floor tray overflowed within a few minutes (needs fixing!). The room could do with a small folding table and a chair. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend staying here but in one of the bigger rooms.

Can only give this two stars due to the first waitress we saw. I went on the 25th March 2022 with my 95 year old father and being a sunny day (and still with a lot of Covid around) managed to get him up two flights of steps to the terraced garden. I went down to order food and I said we were in the garden at the back and quite abruptly was told that they didn't serve up there. I said it was okay I would collect the food and drinks. I was then told I couldn't sit up there as the terrace wasn't open and "anyway it isn't safe" ! Perhaps a sign at the bottom would have been appropriate. So, Dad managed to find his way to the front of the pub where there were a few tables. She asked where we would like to sit and we chose one in the sun and was then told we couldn't sit there as it was laid and reserved!! We found another table near the road. All this would have been acceptable but a small wedding party enjoyed drinks on the terrace. The table we were told had been reserved was given to another group by another waitress when she asked them where would the like to sit so clearly NOT reserved.I was charged for a pint of lemonade (but only had a 1/2) which they rectified and to add insult to injury service charge was added. I let it go because the second dark haired waitress was polite and helpful.Terrible manners and very poor service from the first long blond haired waitress.Would not go back.

Very lovely Mothers Day lunch for a large group. Great food and service thank you!

Delicious food and friendly service. Mains not cheap. Wine nice if you avoid the cheapest bottle. Rooms nicer in the buildings opposite the main pub. Worth paying a little more for these. Good breakfast

Small party went there today - we hadn’t booked/ so didn’t mind at all if they were busy or full! - but host was extremely unwelcoming! She dropped a bottle of water which I picked up for her and she scowled at me, then told us there would be an hours wait, and told me to phone next time ahead! We didn’t wait and won’t be going back in a hurry!! She didn’t smile at any point! I’m sure she was busy - but that is not the way to attract customers!

After hiking almost 40km in 27 degrees the site of this beauty was almost too good to be true! We were in much need of a seat and a tall ice cold pint!! Beautiful pub inside and out and clearly loved by the locals but two sips into our pint we were asked to move away from the pub and into a terraced space as the table we were seated at was actually booked and the diners were waiting. Not the end of the world of course and the table we were moving to was on a lovely terraced spot, very pretty, but where we became rather annoyed was when we needed to carry our drinks and snacks and hiking kit ourselves, across the car park and up the terraced steps on our own. At this point the fault was on the waiter, not what good service looks like I'm afraid.

We stopped for Sunday lunch whilst doing a fabulous circular walk from Win Green. Good food, friendly service, very nice setting. Definitely recommend it. Only having one vegetarian option limits return visits.

Any pub that has individual toilets means you're on to a winner. We had a great meal here. The menu is a solid entry which includes many pub favourites alongside some quirky items. The staff were great, very accomodating and friendly. They were somewhat humorous also, adding to the vibe of the afternoon.A very charming location, it has great outside space and I think it offers rooms too - may be mistaken.Overall, a great visit for us and one which I'd like to repeat in my lifetime.
