Lovely period pub with very comfortable rooms and beds. Staff were polite and helpful, enabled early check-in for us and even set up a travel cot for our daughter. Food was delicious and a nice beer garden with plenty of seating. Would highly recommend.

Stumbled upon this pub after our exhausting bike ride. Very friendly and accommodating staff, we were only there for a drink but decided to come back for a meal the next day, again the staff were really polite and helpful and the food was delicious! 4 very empty plates. Thank you.

We had a fabulous dinner in a typical English pub. Five stars for the table next to the fireplace, the friendly staff and the food... It was delicious!

·

Very friendly staff, beautiful food, a warm welcome, nice atmosphere, lovely room, and dog friendly what more can you ask for

Lovely country pub in a gorgeous village. Our room was pretty big for the price. Comfy bed, coffee machine, chargeable mini bar, very decent power shower and separate entrance to the room.Staff were great, friendly but professional at the same time.Food was of a good standard and a reasonable choice. We would happily return especially as my wife could not enjoy the hotel as she was under the weather ( not connected to the hotel, restaurant or bar).Only slight negative from my point of view, like all Youngs pub there is a limited variety of real ales, although the ales I tried were very good.Merry Christmas to you all and good luck to all of you throughout these terrible times.

We piled in to a big table by the lit fire and ordered our drinks. They were served to the table and when we asked about the food on the counter we were passed a plate of hot Yorkshire puds to tear and share and a small pot of delicious gravy to dip into! 12th century surroundings beautiful

Beautiful venue and location. Enjoyable evening in the bar. Staff were warm and welcoming through out stay, and the room was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

It seems to have recovered from the poor patch it went through after it was taken over by Youngs. Comfortable rooms, wonderful downstairs bar with open fire, excellent food and drink, lovely location. The only reason I have only given it 4 stars is that it is a bit pricey.

Nice pub with a huge warm fireplace. Great if you can sit by the fire and have a drink. Seating includes lounges and table seating.Food is nice, particularly the venison sausages. Extensive wine list, some very good wines.Has a real English countryside feel to the place, lots of fox hunting memorabilia.Staff are nice and friendly.Has rooms to stay and outdoor seating.

Absolutely fabulous historic coaching inn with boutique hotel style. Staff are superb, food was absolutely wonderful and the room was beautifully furnished with vintage furniture. Great bathroom with rainwater shower & a good selection of snacks & amenities in the room, including nespresso machine. We would absolutely stay here again - close to the A303 and within easy reach of Stonehenge & many historic houses and sightseeing in the Wiltshire countryside.
