Food was okay if a little overpriced. The service however was abismal, took over 2 hours to have a main and desert and it wasn't even busy! We had pizzas so it wasn't even like they take long to cook, it even took ages for them to take our orders. Then at the end they added on a 12.5% service charge which was ridiculous. I didn't even try to challenge it seeing as the lady at the bar struggled with the till.

I went for an evening meal yesterday with friends. We waited a few mins to be seated but that was fine. I asked if weshould get our drinks from the bar but the waitress said she would take our order. She didn't come back for 20 mins to take our drinks order then another 10 mins to get them. We were all veggies and I don't eat fish. Only 2 veggie options which was a lentil dahl curry with nan bread and NO RICE or margarita pizza 😐. I didn't want curry so I ordered pizza. Two tables who ordered after us got served before us and I had to chase where our meals were. Bearing in mind we booked our table for 7pm we got our food at 8:15pm which wasn't great service. The food didn't come out together. I had my very dry pizza and my friend had the curry but my other friend waited another 5 mins for her meal then eventually my other friends nan bread came out. Why were we not all served at the same time? For the rest of the evening I walked to the bar to get my drinks as our waitress didn't attend to us. When it came to dessert I asked what the cheesecake of the day was and the veggie dessert option for the day and the waitress didn't know. When she came back she told us the cheesecake of the day but forgot to ask the veggie dessert option of the day so she had to ask and go back again! I went to the bar to get a coffee but they had already cleaned the machine so I couldn't get one. Later on we went to pay and they tried to charge us 10% gratuity. I told him no way. The service was just shocking. They were clearly under staffed. We could have spent so much more money on drinks with them if the waitress had served us but she didn't so The Mill lost out. Please recruit more staff and get them to know what the specials of the day are at the start of their shift.

Restaurant was dead on the Friday we visited.Venue is in a beautiful setting, but the menu was rather unimaginative and erring on the expensive side.Despite there only being about 3 other small tables in use, the food took nearly 45 minutes to arrive, on cold plates. Food was very average considering the prices charged.Somewhat scruffily dressed staff seemed indifferent about the wait times and to add insult to injury added a mandatory service charge to the bill. This used to be a great and very busy venue but sadly I can’t see it staying open much longer if this is how customers are treated.

Went to a private function here. All very nicely done. The only issue was that the ramp for wheelchair user to allow access into the pub had rotted and the guest had to be manually lifted , which was not ideal. Also , no disabled facilities upstairs which again made it difficult with a wheelchair user.

Food was delicious but took 50 minutes from ordering, had to chase cauliflower cheese one eventually arrived ordered two. Two had finished dinners before second had arrived. And bill had a £25 bottle of malbec added to it and not ordered. Been few times before and was slightly disappointed this time. Staff were lovely but didn't get it quite right. Will go again but bill certainly needs scrutiny

Nice and friendly place, lots of dogs well behaved. May have had issues with deliveires as some items on the menu were not available. But still enjoyed our selves.

It was pretty busy when we got here on a Sunday but they still found us a table and we had an excellent Sunday roast. If we were to come back in summer, I think we'd absolutely love the garden!

Lovely roast today, a delicious big vegan one too!! They got us in on short notice as only called in the morning. A great atmosphere, friendly staff and owner who came to tell us there was a childrens area upstairs, complete with snacks, balloons, film and face painting! All the better as my daughter had missed a birthday party! We will definitely come again, and great local walks beforehand a must! Thanks again ♥️

Roast was really good, Yorkshire puddings the size of my head! It's a lovely garden to sit in and eat/drink whilst restrictions are in place. Also dog friendly which is great. Felt like the service staff were a little slow with taking orders and could have been a little more efficient with service as kept putting drinks and food at wrong tables but it's only the first couple weeks back so maybe out of practice but if you're up for a slow pace chill afternoon I'd recommend!
