We had a lovely family Sunday lunch here today for my uncle’s 80th birthday party. Lovely setting, beautiful views over the lake and delicious food, catered for veggies, vegans, nut allergies and garlic haters! Roast was huge, as were the other dishes. But the best thing were the staff who were so friendly, attentive and caring and tolerant of my auntie who, having dementia, was a bit confused at times. Thank you so much - we’ll be back!

DeVere has changed the concept of its restaurants. In pre-pandemic times the hotel restaurant had a fancier menu and The Old Boathouse more of a traditional pub styled menu. The restaurants are now more level. The Old Boathouse is marketed as a Restaurant & Bar, the menu and food has become fancier, and the hotel restaurant as a Brasserie, the menu has become much simpler with fewer 'a la carte' options than previously. The food has been delicious and quality of the food was good. However, the quantity of the side dishes like potatoes and vegetables was extremely small, the lamb rump is literally accompanied with one baby potato, a smear of pea puree and a couple of green beans. We've expressed our disappointment to the waitress but it didn't look like the feedback went back to the management.

It was very disappointing. The portion of the meal was seriously small. I felt totally cheated. It was not really good value for money to pay for a meal that comes with two very small baby potatoes and a tiny piece of a carrot.

LOCATION great but burger was cooked so well it was tough as old boots. We did mention this to the waitress who did offer to replace it but we declined. We should have taken heed that as this place is operated by De Vere and we were staying in the hotel next door that their food would be just the same.....poor standard for such a well known brand. Disappointing really 😕

First visit to the Boat house, service good, l had a hoagie with fries and coleslaw. The hogie was passable but the fries were undercooked and slaw was tasteless. Shame don't think we will be going again.

If you are reading these reviews considering visiting here. Just don't.The food is overpriced and so basic. I ordered a the hoagie pulled pork sandwich for £11, firstly we were told they are premade. But when it came out it was a soggy panini with a spoon of congealed mince slapped in it. Quite honestly the worse sandwich I have ever seen..I couldn't eat it and sent it back. They clearly rely on one off visitors to the Lakes...you're better off getting a sandwich from spar en route.

The restaurant was really cold with the entrance door broken so wouldn't shut as it should. Customers were constantly shutting the door after others had left it open. When I mentioned it to a member of staff that's when they advised the door was broken. The food menu was sparse and once the food arrived was unappetising. When we asked for the sweet menu we were told most of the options were unavailable. What did arrive was stale and inedible. However the staff were helpful and tried their best.

The setting is amazing, the staff friendly and helpful, the food is well presented and of a good quality. Unfortunately having to ask for your bottle of wine 30 minutes after you’ve ordered and ask where your food is 1 hour after you’ve ordered was frustratingly poor!

Nice restaurant and very sweet staffIt overlooks a lake but the bushes are so high they block the view. They really need to trim itOrdered a steak and it arrived fast. Very tasty and the chips are goodBeware of the wasps when eating outsideThere’s indoor eating area too

We went to the Boathouse for father's day Lunch and the atmosphere and decor was beautiful. My dad, hubby and mum enjoyed their meals though i was sorely disappointed and let down by my bloomers sandwich. My expectation was that a bloomers bread is crusty and chunky, but what i got looked like a standard slice bread from the supermarket.I was also disappointed that there was no seafood option considering they are located on a lakeside. Very limited lunch menu mostly considering of sandwiches and burgers. Adding scmpy and fish and chips would have divercidied the menu and given us more options. As it stands we didn't get much of a choice and struggled to find something on the menu we liked.
