Just had a lovely Sunday lunch meal at The Ship. The food was delicious and the setting beautiful - especially appreciated by my mother who loves water and weeping willows. Despite moving tables from inside to outside and making up meals from various items on the menu, the lady serving us was very patient, helpful and kept a smile on her face. They managed to impress an impossible-to-impress elderly relative and husband.

Fantastic food. We only had starters but the mackerel and mussels were outstanding.Don’t usually leave reviews but have eaten everywhere around here and the Ship Inn is far and away the best of the bunch.Really friendly service, the owners obviously take pride, and care, about what they do and it shows.Great choice of beers and lagers on tap and very reasonably priced too. Wife had a glass of Romanian Pinot Grigio which was wonderful apparentlyThe garden is stunning and there is a lovely decked terrace too.We will definitely be returning and telling all of our friends. This place deserves to be a success

Popped in for a midweek lunch. We had been before, but the pub has recently reopened with new owners who have refurbished it throughout.Comfy bar, and nice restaurant area. The garden has been transformed, and is lovely. Two guest ales on tap - I had the "Piston Broke" which was very well kept and served. There is a very interesting and varied menu. I had the slow cooked shoulder of lamb on a lovely rustic roll, with loads of rosemary. (Lesser places might have called it pulled lamb). Very tasty indeed.Others tried the Mere smoked trout and beetroot focaccia sandwich and loved it.Altogether, lovely food, great beer , friendly service and a pleasant ambience.Highly recommended.

This is a real find, super pub in the lovely picturesque village of Burcombe. Friendly service (even though our group mainly had coffees). We took the suggested 3 mile walk which presented stunning views in all directions taking us 1.5 hours to complete. We didn't eat this time but will be back in the future as the menu looked very inviting and not overly expensive.

Fantastic food and excellent service with the new owners. A lovely outside area to enjoy the sun or under cover. A nice selection of ales, beer, cider and other drinks. I particularly enjoyed the venison burger with truffle chips, it was the best burger I've had in years.

Met family here to celebrate a 75th birthday, have been before when under the previous ownership. We had such a warm welcome from the new owners, service was excellent and we all enjoyed the meals we had (9 of us).Very reasonably priced for the standard of food. Garden terrace was very pretty to sit outside and make the most of the sunshine.

Very friendly staff. The pub is in a beautiful, quiet village. The Ship has a large car park and a beautiful pub garden that has a stream at the bottom. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was of a very good standard.

Lovely homely pub, we was just travelling through on our way home to the west country. We all ordered a light lunch which was really tasty 😋 Highly recommended 😋
