A very welcoming country pub just a short distance from the A36. The menu is diverse and the food fresh and delicious. I had the halloumi fries followed by a burger with herb seasoned chips - it was all fantastic.

Had a lovely family meal at this delightful pub. It was cosy and welcoming. Has front and rear access with on site car park and bear garden. The food was hot and fresh, and the service was good. Prices were reasonable. In all I would recommend for a meal out, oh and drink, of course.

Untrained young staff , had to ask for drinks 3 times before they came due to till being broken and staff forgetting. Meat and mash cold but greens scolding when meal arrived, no one checked back and asked if everything was OK with the meals. Chairs had half backs and leaned back so uncomfortable and the music was like a Saturday night in weatherspoons not a Sunday roast in a country village pub 😆Oh and a unexpected 10% service charge for very little serviceEdit, untrained because tables weren't cleared or where left half cleared with bits of cutlery left, lour cutlery wasn't replaced after it was taken away with the starter and no one came to check if everything was OK with meals which is when I would have mentioned meal being cold and forgetting about our drinks numerous times despite being asked about where they were and saying the till being broken is why is they kept getting forgotten a cop out. It wasn't busy.Chairs are a personal preference but that's an honest constructive feedback you requested and the music was songs like "it's Friday then it Saturday...Sunday what!" And other weekend dance tracks which got turned up at one point 😆Calling people a Karen when you asked for feedback is amazing! Thanks for the entertainment though.

I have been here for Christmas meal...Just one word....amazing!!I cannot fault the exceptional service or the delicious food. Every single mouthful was amazing.I haven’t enjoyed a meal this much for a while. Executed to perfection and some creative touches. The flavours lingered in my mouth well after the meal.Very well balanced meal , attentive service and fantastic atmosphere. What a great evening in a wonderful setting...we are planning to goback soon! Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

One of the best Christmas meal experiences I have ever had. From start to finish the whole experience from the staff to the chefs making our incredible meal was brilliant. The menu was so incredibly tasty, the flavours were out of this world. The food was fresh, sophisticated and cooked to perfection. Service was first class and staff very helpful and friendly.Thank you to the chef - drawing on his roots - and the wonderful kitchen staff.(P.s - I was initially perturbed by some negative reviews on Google but so glad I disregarded them. This is definitely The Big League)Would definitely go back.

We were a party of 20 for a post Xmas get together. We pre ordered the food and had sole use of the upstairs area. The food arrived without delay and more importantly, got to us at the same time, no-one was left waiting for theirs. The quality of the food was excellent and the attentiveness of the staff could'nt be faulted. We were able to order sweets on the night and all drinks were brought to the table. Would have given 6 stars if the extra one was available!

We enjoyed an excellent Sunday Roast. Generous portions, tasty veg, friendly staff and very good value. Certainly will go again.

What a fantastic dining experience! We visited the restaurant many times in the past and we decided to come again for dinner Saturday and we were all blown away. The service was impeccable from start to finish with strong attention to detail. The food was above our expectations, freshness, presentation, taste, temperature etc. were all top class. That Halloumi it was a strange combination but amazing taste, steak perfectly cooked with a lot of flavour and the chicken with nuts and seedscrust it was spectacular.Unfortunately we only give 4 stars due to the lack of consistency.I think the chef need to train the staff more , the food is not the same every time. Will definitely return and would highly recommend.Thank you

Went out with three friends for Xmas meal. The waitress was very good made sure we all had drinks. The first course I had Celeriac soup delicious. The meal went down with a poor main course frozen veg and dry xmas pudding.

Very pleasant pub with plenty of seating and a mezzanine seating area also. Good outside garden with tables and chai rs, overlooking an attractive country view. Food good at a reasonable price and lunchtime menu at an affordable cost.
