The Tollgate Inn Restaurant in Wiltshire

Not Dog friendly, they said Dog could only stay outside in the markee, I said to them I could stay outside at home, needless to say I wouldn't recommend going there and I definitely won't be going back there, if you do go to Holt the Old Ham Tree Pub is extremely Dog friendly I know as I've been there myself.

Not a great experience with kids.We went after the lunchtime rush as there is an all day kids menu. We were sat in the stuffy dining room and we felt like everyone was staring at us.The service was as good as it could be as they were short staffed.But the food was terrible. Very expensive for greasy underwhelming food.Would not go back.

Great place to stay and eat. Bedroom was tastefully decorated and clean. Lovely friendly staff.

Staff friendly and helpful, food very nice, overall a good evening, will recommend this place.

Another year of staying at the Tollgate at least once a week on business. As always the service is excellent, as a single female away for work it it is lovely to be made to feel so welcome and looked after. Fabulous to sit outside in the summer and equally good to sit inside especially at this time of year with the fire and decorations. Would highly recommend

Just checked out this morning and this was our 2nd stay and have just booked our 3rd and 4th visit. Lovely relaxed location with great food. Mark the owner said 'you're back!' as soon as we got out of the car. Immediately making us feel welcome and at ease. Slowlymaking our way through all the rooms.

We only needed a light bite and a drink at lunchtime so we shared a roll which came with chips and salad. We chose the homemade fish fingers which were excellent. More than enough for the 2 of us as we'd had a good breakfast at our hotel.Staff were friendly and accommodating and seating available outside too if desired.Entertainment advertised for evenings.Clearly a well run pub for the local community, they deserve to.prosper.
