A bank holiday visit. Bar and tables plus garden open while downstairs was shut.View of canal and barges from some tables.Tables well spaced. Helpful and friendly staff.Food very very average. We only had ciabattas which came with fries and slaw but although nothing really wrong with them were so unspecial we wished we hadn't bothered - Maybe it was the slightly warm mass of soft ciabatta.

Fantastic stop off on our journey and complemetary roast potatoes with our ciabatta sandwiches, canal side location and the Exmoor Gold Ale went down a treat too while Mrs J stuck to Chardonnay. Excellent! Well done Waterfront team!

Was taken to lunch by family and my expectations were high and looking forward to it due to previous glowing reviews on Facebook However, was disappointed by a knife that was blunt and struggled to cut meat. Also not happy about the excess fat on the lamb that was undercooked and not crispy but chewy. The gravy was, as advertised, delicious and accompanying veg for the most part ok .I would return but for this reason only 4 stars awarded.

Rough as an old boot - Beware cyclists - Don't usually leave reviews but I thought this needed one - Thought this pub would be a nice stop off for a drink whilst on a weekend cycle ride with my G/F - Right by the water, how wrong was I - It's a 100% locals place who don't seem to like outsiders or anyone for that matter. I'm not sure why but it was upstairs only so quite restricted on space. Quite a few people there already - As soon as we arrived everyone stared at us...and I don't just mean a glance... they continued to 'stare' and grumble under their breath for the entire night as though they didn't have anything better to do and they hadn't seen another human being in 100 years. They made us feel very unwelcome and awkward. Towards the end of the night one of the locals decided to come over and 'have a go' calling me rude or something for no apparent reason. I got the impression that anyone else would get the same treatment although I certainly hope this was a one off - suffice to say I will not be freqenting this establishment again.

What a great spot and the bar staff were really friendly. Only complaint which was very frustrating was we left a message to book a table at 8.30pm. We left a message because no-one answered the telephone. We arrived and tied up our boat walked in at 8.10 to be told the kitchen was closed at 8pm. I don't know if you know Pewsey but its a mile walk into town with a pub that serves only Pizza and some random takeaways. So nowhere to sit and eat. Anyhow we ate crisps and drunk as there was literally nowhere else to go. Shame.

We stop here every year on our way from Norwich to Sidmouth. Clean toilets, good food and drink and dog friendly upstairs in the bar. Lovely walk along the canal to stretch your legs after a long drive.
