We had the best night’s stay here. The bathtub in the room was such a luxury as were the quality of the tea/coffee/toiletries. Breakfast was delicious.

Lovely hotel.. nice local atmosphere but with very good food & more sophisticated than you might initially expect. Service from entire staff.. really very good… & they are very dog friendly & also great with wheelchair access. I wish them continued success (date of stay March 26 2022)

5 star staff, super welcoming and friendly. Rooms slightly small and a bit noisy. Bathroom was nice. Food good but not amazing. Disappointing the room wasn’t cleaned when we were out. Location very good.

Our stay at Timbrell's Yard will certainly be quite memorable. Small things such as the staff's professionalism and attentiveness can make a big difference and in our case it made us feel comfortable and at easy from the moment we arrived.Without asking for it, we were upgraded at no extra cost to what must have been one of their best rooms as it had become available due do a last minute cancellation caused by Storm Eunice. The room was fantastic with plenty of windows overlooking the River Avon and the grounds of Holy Trinity church across the river. This was great as even though the hotel is quite well located in the centre of town, it still feels retreated and is quiet outside. We were quite pleased with the room equipment as well as the style and that of the rest of the hotel: intelligent and elegant architecture and interior design which gave the place an air of modernity while still respecting the original style and history of both the building and its surroundings. I am married to an architect who is fairly demanding in this area so to say that she was really well pleased with the hotel is to say a lot!The hotel has several parking spaces however if these are taken then there is plenty of pay and display bays at the car park outside. The hotel will cover any parking costs incurred during the stay however the rates are so low that we didn't think it was worth claiming them back, especially after how well we were treated. Hotel staff also informed us they have some parking bays available by the station, a couple of minutes down the road. The location of the hotel is quite convenient as it's right by the centre of town. It is also a short drive away from amenities such as Bath, Castle Combe or even Salisbury, so a great place to stay if one wants to visit several places in that part of the country. We only had breakfast at the hotel and this was fantastic because of the service, the food and the restaurant, which was quite agreeable and with views to the river. We didn't stay for any other meals however it was quite telling that both the bar and the restaurant were always full from early in the morning until close late at night. The patrons seemed from a wide variety of demographics, with families, couples, groups of young people as well as groups of older friends.

We had a lovely mezzanine room with a river view, and also enjoyed dinner in the restaurant downstairs. The cooked breakfast and buffet were great and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Quite good value. Bathroom was nice, rain shower. My mattress needed replacing; my spine was touching the springs on the other side and the buttons were digging in my back. I had to spin it round and lay a towel under the sheet. The skylight without a blind meant that we were woken up by sunlight at 6.30am on our holiday 😐 Breakfast was a bit lacklustre; not ever hard hard boiled poached eggs before...Probably wouldn't go back but still an Ok place to stay.

My husband and I have just left this amazing restaurant! This was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff are super friendly and so efficient. My husband had the rump steak, I had the hake and the sticky toffee pudding. The food was absolutely delicious! We were so impressed. So much so, we plan to stay in the hotel in our next visit.

We're on a walking tour visiting from the states. We stayed 3 nights and loved it. The room was beautiful, comfortable bed with a nice assortment of teas and coffee. At both breakfast and dinner, the staff was very cheerful and attentive. The food was delicious. The dining room and pub are very comfortable. Very easy access from the train station and an easy walk to stores and more restaurants. I would stay here again.

My husband and I spent a memorable mini break to celebrate our anniversary at Timbrell's Yard. The staff were very welcoming and surprised us with some lovely treats to make our visit extra special. We enjoyed delicious meals for breakfast and dinner, with attentive and professional service. The hotel has a great location overlooking the river, within easy reach of the town and peaceful walks along the canal. This is a place we have wanted to visit for a long time and it didn't disappoint.
