Medieval themed restaurant developed from a church so it has some great architecture. The food was fabulous. I had venison (which is not always available) medium rare and it was delicious. The staff were amazing as well. Small issue with the bill which was instantly sorted out by a blonde lady who was fabulous.Would definitely recommend.

Hadnt been here for a long time so decided to give it another go - nice surroundings and atmosphere- well attended by very helpful staffExtensive menu with wide range of starters and main courses- the food was fine and well presented but just lacked the wow factor .Having said that there was nothing too much to complain about apart from the hake being a tad overdone

I would highly recommend Viscounts. The food was incredible. The service was brilliant too, the staff were very friendly. We visited Viscounts during the Christmas period and the festive decorations were the best I've seen in any restaurant. We will definitely be back

Can't say anything only good about this place. Treated like royalty from the second we entered the place. Lovely atmosphere. Staff were so professional and friendly, couldn't do enough for us. We were celebrating our daughters graduation and engagement, the perfect place to do so. Food was fabulous from presentation to being flavoursome and just simply delicious. Cocktails went down well too. Thank you all for a great night

Love the Viscount, we have been going there from it first opened. Joe and Chris were the waiters back in the day, never got bad food in the Viscount. Love the new bar upstairs.

Amazing service from the door to the table. We met by a gentleman at the door and he could see I had issues breathing so we were directed straight to the lift for a beverage before being give a menu to look over, which I thought was the best idea as you could take your time perusing the menu. The staff were all wearing masks 😷 which was excellent to see. The barman Shane was extremely knowable about whiskeys, cocktails and wines 🍷.A lovely gentleman came over and asked if we would like to order or did we need a few minutes. We ordered and then a few moments later we were sat at a table that was socially distanced from other people eating. Well done and forwarded thinking looking after patrons and staff. We were offered another drink and water for the table which we accepted. Our drinks came and then our starters arrived I had the scallops perfectly cooked and the starter as a whole was divine. My husband had the prawns also cooked to perfection and divine. We were never left without a drink or someone checking to see if we needed anything which I found totally different from most places I've been. Our main arrived hot and prompt the portion sizes for this restaurant were spot on. Honestly most places pile on the food that you really only need a starter as they are so big the my mains never get eaten. I had the venison rare just as I had ordered as when the gentleman came to take our orders said they serve it medium rare. My husband had the beef pad thai that sizzled at the table for the longest time. Both meals were exquisite. The only criticism I would have was the bacon and cabbage was not needed with the venison and did nothing to lift the dish at all. I would put green beens, asparagus or even baby carrots. We both ordered the  crème brulée, with a rhubarb compote at the bottom as you can see they both came out looking exactly the same. A lovely finish to a fantastic meal. I couldn't eat it all as it was quite a hefty portion. Please don't charge your portion sizes or your team as everything was just perfect. Thank you all so much for such a lovely evening. Definitely 5 stars 🌟.

Although the food was tasty, the selection was poor. The meat was sliced very thin (almost see through) and we felt rushed at the end. We were only there an hour and ask to move to the bar. We booked a table that morning for our daughter and her boyfriend as it was her 21st birthday. Normally there is a big birthday song and a cake but she said she was disappointed because there was nothing. We made sure it was noted but to no avail. Not the Viscounts I remember.

Food is nice but not as much as I would expect it to be if we're taking the prices in to consideration.Staff and the service was incredibly good, very helpful and friendly, all with a smile (excellent service!).As for the three stars, it's just OK.
