Maya Cafe in Newry and Mourne

Lovely experience, really friendly staff. I have high standards for Mexican food and I can safely say the el matador burrito was one of the nicest I’ve had. Reasonably priced as well so I’d happily return.

Best burritos I've ever tasted, and the waiter is very friendly and helpful.

Never knew there was a Mexican place in Newry, until we found this. The food is amazing and service is exceptional, we will be back many many times. Only downside is sitting area could be bigger and warmer, but still love it.

Forget Boojum, chiqquitos any other Mexican restaurant in NI, cafe Maya is where it's at, always the freshed ingredients best service and most authentic Mexican feel possible, the coffee is pretty great too, would rate higher if possible

We were struggling to find somewhere to have a healthy lunch in Newry until Google came to the rescue. Weirdly at lunchtime there was no queue outside as everyone seemed to be queuing at the butchers for their takeaway sambos next door. There was no way I was going there, so in I went.Ordered a pulled pork bowl with all the trimmings and a chicken burrito for my husband from a lovely fella. Very generous sized portions, very fresh, very tasty, glad we went there.

TOP CLASS. Chicken cooked to perfection, sticky on the outside (grilled) and tender and juicy inside. Got a La Guapa burrito bowl (would highly recommend), substituting the beans for rice. Very filling and satisfying take-away, and significantly healthier than most (or all) of its counterparts in the area. Excellent service also, always. Unfortunately didn't get his name but he's definitely the main guy in there, very friendly and accommodating. Happy customer.

Excellent food. Recommended.Met the owners wife while she was working in the kitchen (very clean) and she is a real Latina so expect the food to be great.The style has a nice modern twist. Served with coleslaw to cool down the spices if it gets too hot. But they also are kind enough to ask you how much spice you can handle. So don't be afraid you will be overwhelmed.

Have been here numerous times and have loved the food on each occasion.Their burritos are amazing - authentic, fresh and great portion size.The female waitress is so polite and easy to talk to, and makes the experience even more enjoyable.So glad newry has this spot, an absolute gem of a place.

Lovely little spot! Got a burrito and was very tasty, considering its not my usual food. Brilliant atmosphere. It can have quite a buzz about it. Would like to go back. Its very chill and the staff gave a very good impression. Tasty styling homemade food.

Cosy little cafe in Newry's busy Monaghan Street. Tried all the burritos on the menu and never had a bad one. Well worth 5 stars.
