4* but barely. The food was incredible which is what saved this review. But the service was pretty shocking. We (partner & I) ordered drinks and the rest of the table ordered a wine pairing, but nothing turned up until the first course which was a good half hour in.Food came out in fits and starts and sometimes there was a massive gap between courses. Main course didn’t turn up until 10pm or so (7.30pm booking). The wine pairings sometimes came out at the same time as the food they were supposed to come with. But no matter when we ordered our drinks (not on the wine pairing) they were slower than expected. All in all, a decent enough night but mostly because we were determined to have fun. I’m not sure we’d go back without somebody vouching for improved service.

The softly-lit interior and ambience make Lasan a lovely place to be, and that's before they bring you wonderful dishes which are unlike any other restaurant we've visited and clearly a labour of love for the kitchen. Delicious cocktails finished off the evening. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. If anything was going to persuade us to visit Birmingham again, it's the opportunity to go through more of the menu. A real highlight of our trip. Thanks very much!

Great service and atmosphere. The food was well presented but we were somewhat let down with the mains. We were expecting tastier food from all the previous reviews but honestly have had more authentic curries elsewhere. The dessert was the best part of the meal.

Lasan is the best Indian Restaurant that I've ever been. Nice and cozy with great ambiance restaurant, very very good food with great presentation. We went 2 times in a month..and loved it every time.

Very flavoursome food. Portion size may look small but is rich. Service was a but slow though, even though there wasn't many customers

Dined here once before, a few years ago now and we really enjoyed it then so we decided to go back. This venue has transformed into a fantastic Indian restaurant, the menu and the food is fantastic and the staff are professional and friendly.

Visited once and my impressions were positive. Lovely decor. The food was good but definitely feel there was room for improvement taste wise. Might just be my tastebuds so do give them a try 👍

From the service to the food, everything was spot on. We arrived on time and was brought to a nice table by a friendly waiter who was attentive throughout the evening. Food was ordered and brought to the table in a speedy fashion. All very nice. I enjoyed my soft shell crabs and coconuty curry! 10/10. Oh and get the cocktails too!

This is clearly the best indian restaurant by far that we have visited over the years. Absolutely great and worth a detour. We were with a large party and we received a warm welcome and the seating in the restaurant gave us a feel of sitting comfortable in our living room. We had a vegetarian lunch. The starters were delicious and of the main dishes mouthwatering. The absolute best was their sweet potato kofta and thier dhal makhani. Also desserts were original and very enjoyable. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

I loved my meal here. The food, service, welcome and drinks were all exceptional. The menu is interesting with choices that go far beyond what you'd usually see. Our waiter talked us through the options and curated some great choices for us all and to complement each other. My starter of soft shell crab was cooked perfectly, so as to be light yet crisp. My lamb shank main a highlight. It was tender, rich and tasty meat with delicate spicing. The daal accompanying it was perfect.I'd especially mention the tasty veggie side dishes and wide choice of breads. The wine list was competitively priced and there were some fun and classic cocktails.I'll be returning in the near future.
