Great food great polite staff and great ambience 9/10 , no I have 2 con and that’s only because the waiter forgot to give us the cocktail buy on get one free deal he said we didn’t as for the deal 🙈 and he forgot to put water on the table or even offer us the water but we were not mad in anyway and that’s my only reason for the 4 star review otherwise I will be back hoping to give 5 stars 😊

We went for son's birthday and it was out-of-this-world! Warm welcome, star clientele, fresh, vibrant cocktails, perfectly cooked authentic Caribbean food. Parking was easy nearby. Portions are generous.

Food was great, service was amazing and those cocktails!! Wonderful evening out with a Carribbean twist.XL plates provide you with all you need if you're extra hungry or like a variety of food. It usually comes with prawns aswell but I had these removed.Cocktails are 2 for £12 at selective times, which is great value.

Was my first time last night. Beautiful décor, great team of staffs, delicious food and excellent portion. The best Caribbean restaurant. Will definitely come again in the future. Keep up the good work! Next time I won't bring the car so I can try their cocktails.

We were disappointed with the curry goat as it was overly salty on the day and the prawns were over cooked, the coleslaw struck me as coleslaw you can get from any supermarket and wasnt home made and the plantain didn't have much of a sweetness to it.2 stars as they did knock the curry goat off the bill and the Sea Bass dish my mum had was nice. The waitress was also friendly and attentive but there are certainly other much better caribbean restaurants in Birmingham that you might want to consider first.

The best Caribbean Restaurant I have visited. On entering Mellow’s you’ll be greeted by the welcoming bar staff. Hidden just over their shoulders is the restaurant section. Mellow’s Bar & Restaurant has a bright, eye-catching interior. It is illuminated with modern lighting arrangement dangling from the ceiling. The quality extends to the tables, weight = quality, these are bloody heavy.I (stupidly) ordered a starter, Ackee filled dumpling, and the XL vegan main. In retrospect, the XL meal was more than enough food. The food was quality. I especially loved the Ackee and the dumplings. The combo is like a hearty eggy crusty cob. There is plenty of choice on the menu. If you love a meat option, you’re spoilt: Jerk chicken, jerk salmon, even Jerk Duck. There a number of vegan choices too. Fancy Jerk Jackfruit? I opted for the delicious Ackee and Callaloo. It is served in a balti dish and works beautifully with the the dumpling and fried plantain. The service is excellent at Mellow’s. The staff were well-versed and made sure I had a happy experience.

My girlfriends and I booked a trip to Birmingham and this Caribbean restaurant is a must. Food is sooo good, portions are excellent value for money and the owner is friendly. If going Birmingham you must try this place but you have to book way in advance as they are always booked up. Cocktails are good too. love this place.

First time going to Mellows, food top notch and great atmosphere. The portions are good and food very tasty, just how I like it, and good value for money. Very clean environment. My only negative was that we arrived early due to not being from Birmingham and thought could have a drink whilst waiting, but was not allowed. Would definitely return and highly recommend.👌🏽

Great location in Birmingham, good atmosphere and pleasant surroundings. Went on a very busy Saturday evening at 8:30 pm (although it started to empty out at about 9 pm). Waited a long time to place an initial drinks order and order food, felt like we were forgotten actually. When being attended to, the staff were friendly and polite. There were a few food items and drinks that weren't available - basics - which was disappointing, I made the booking weeks ago as it's difficult to get in, so I'm surprised they ran out of items as they would have had other bookings from ages ago. Once we ordered, food came through quickly, they were keen to get us our mains pretty much as soon as we finished our starters, so that made me feel rushed to have my meal. There were some interesting cocktails on the drinks menu which we really enjoyed - although there were a couple cocktails that "weren't available"? Not heard that one before? The food was presented well and was enjoyable, their sweet potato fries were the nicest I've eaten out and the coleslaw has a twist. I can't remember seeing desserts on the menu and we weren't offered any. Generally I liked it at Mellows, the food was good, but I felt like because we were eating later, we were being rushed to finish up. If asked to compare, I'd say I had a better experience and more value for money at Turtle Bay but I appreciate that independent restaurants are struggling during Covid. It's definitely worth going, but not sure I'll return, maybe I'll try it out again some time after Covid restrictions lift as it may be different.

Beautiful settings , I've only ever heard good things about Mellows. I've waited a long time to go here due to it being so popular. Highly recommend , all drinks and food on point no complaints from me. Looking forward to going again. The group I attended with had a mix of orders from starters and mains and not one complaint XL meals well worth the money and a good idea for those who want everything on one plate don't be shy to ask for a takeaway box for any left overs 😉 😀
