The shop was sold to new owners a year or two back. The guy is really nice, but the food is NOT good any more. Just had my third actually inedible pack of chips from them. It had been closed for a while and reopened, so we thought maybe it had new people running it, but sadly not. Tastes like they never change their oil, and I had to spit out a dozen chips because they were hard. I stopped trying after that, as the two that were edible didn't taste good. I tried telling them about the bad chips last time and they didn't care. There was no offer of a refund or replacement (not that we'd have wanted them, the experience put me off chips for months last time).

Popped in today (3pm) for large chips. They were dry, not sure how long they'd been there for. There were some samosas ready so I asked for a couple of those too. The samosas weren't brilliant, over fried and overly thick pastry. My other reason for the low rating is that I requested some mint yoghurt to go with the samosas, the gentleman squeezed a small container of the yoghurt bottle (which Farmfoods 100 yards away sell for £1 for the whole bottle) and charged me an extra 50p for it. Anywhere else locally would happily give you some sauce with samosa and not charge extra.Overall, mediocre food and after every penny he could get. I won't be visiting here again.

Food was awful. Curry sauce was luke warm and fish cake was hard and dry, clearly had been reheated. Partner had fish and chips and said it wasn't nice. Food went in the bin, never ordering from here again.

Large fish and chips for £10....smaller than a mini that you'd get elsewhere. Wish I could share the photo, rancid to look at.When called to complain, zero compassion or customer service. For £20 for two people to share 1 medium sized piece of cod, small portion of chips and a moderate sized portion of chicken meat...not worth it at all. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Best Fish and Chip shop in the District.. and beyond. The owner is, helpful and knows his customers. Works really hard and always bright and cheerful. Great food, great service.

Worst fish and chips we have had in a while. Portions are small for the money, chips were undercooked but mostly consisted of old crispy bits of batter. Curry sauce was watered down and pot was only half full. Really not worth £8.50 pretty disappointed.

Disgusting chips burnt brown and dry. Old tatty chips. I asked for my order to be delivered with mayo and salad with my chips and cutlery. I specifically asked for fresh food. I got old tatty food. Yuck. I called owner he was apologetic but refused my critique. I think he needs spec savers

Average quality food. Burger bun had a spot of mould on it.

I've been coming to this fish and chip shop for years now, and they have always provided a decent meal at a decent price. The chips are always tasty, having won a local award presented by Keith Chegwin a few years ago.The kebabs are good value for money, and are a particular favourite of mine when i want a more substantial lunch.

We were looking for a good Fish and Chips meal after the visit to Cadbury World, and we see the signs of this place. The Fish n chips are amazing! The chips are one of the best chips I ever eaten in my life, and the fish was big, very big... In fact, I couldn't finish all the meal! Also, I was surprised: it was cheap! I recommend it without a doubt!
