If I was judging on just the food it would be 5 stars but in a Michelin starred restaurant, it isn't just about the food, it's the whole experience. I must be getting old as I don't like dining in a restaurant that has such dim lighting, nearly black, I don't like waiters telling me about what's in the dish, every single dish, just write it on the menu I can then remember it better! I felt sorry for them having to stay passionate every time they tell the customer about the ingredients. I don't like being interrupted mid conversation all the time, yes it is about the food but when you are with other people it's again the whole experience. I went to Carters in the early days and the food was fantastic, it still is but something has changed and I'm not sure it's for the better, not for me anyway. Lovely team though.

Brilliant experience from start to finish. Both the food and service is excellent. Every detail is looked at. Especially enjoyed how we were offered tastings of wine before dedicating to a whole bottle. Really appreciated Brad coming to speak to us and even sign a book! Throughly recommend for anyone who wants to try local produce and have a theatrical experience. The passion really shines through. Cannot stop talking about that chicken thigh!

Last minute cancellations are pretty cr@ppy for restaurants and the hospitality industry - but it does give the opportunity to visit a restaurant we have been attempting to go to for a while!!Unobtrusive and just off the high street in Moseley - CoM is ace. The decor is pretty dark but the lighting works well and due to the small size you get a good view of the kitchen. If you follow the staff dinners on Instagram it's like a parade of familiar faces (I think I may have been fanboying for large portions on the evening...).But was it any good?? Yes, it's awesome! The service is friendly and unobtrusive but spot on. The food was exceptional - local and British sourced ingredients means some clever interpretations of non UK ingredients. Big shout out to Mac n Cheese, the Brum soup and the trout (oh, and all the epic snacks). The drinks pairing and introductions were great with some interesting accompaniments to keep you thinking. It's not cheap but I think it's a fair price for the quality of the food and the experience.

Another great night at Carters! We were back at the Chef’s Table at Carters on Saturday night celebrating my wife’s birthday. I think it is reasonable to expect high quality food, drinks and service when dining in a Michelin starred restaurant but Carters delivers that and so much more - the whole experience is greater than the sum of the parts. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave dining at Carters is such a great experience. With Brad and Holly leading by example, all the staff are so passionate and professional about the quality of the food, drinks and service but they are also so welcoming and friendly - there is such a lovely relationship between the whole Carters’ team and diners within the restaurant. A visit to Carters is a very special occasion.

Brought my nan here for her birthday. Had a fantastic time, food, wine and service were all phenomenal. Friendly warming staff who make you feel very welcome, really tasty food and interesting wines that all marry together for an excellent experience. I would highly recommend and I would return again 100% for sure

Chef Brad Carter has taken his cooking to a whole new level. Absolutely amazing tasting menu tonight featuring a gorgeous razor clam faux pasta dish, scrumptious monkfish paired with winter truffle, hen of the woods and other mushrooms, superb venison with a very clever twist and a dessert combining spruce fir and wood ants (yes, you read that correctly). Stunningly good food! Clever, but not for the sake of cleverness - it's all about the flavour and textures. Menus change regularly to reflect what's in season.

Amazing food and a pleasure to hear how much of it is locally sourced. The staff are really friendly and make you feel right at home... No airs and graces here! Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely fabulous. My parents are approaching the 80's but never experienced a fine dining experience. They experienced where the food was sourced, where the wine came from and the most friendliest staff serving and explaining the food. I actually thought my dad would enjoy the experience more but my mother was in her element. Holly was so accommodating and Brad took the time to come over after we''d eaten to see how the experience went. The staff are fantastic. The food was delicious and that's all I will say as you need to go and experience it.Holly's brother is one of talented staff under Brad who explained the Droitwich Bread and the fabulous butter served with it.An experience I wanted to give to my father and mother as a thank you and it didn't disappoint.Thank you as you made the evening Carters.

Every single dish was a surprise, so as the wine pairing. The chef and the staff has carefully designed the experience, from the moment you sit down, the menu, the name / story of the restaurant are special. It also has its own parking spots so it’s convenient. This place is a must try!
