Went there to buy a large fish and chips, 20 mins before closing time and the woman at the counter said; ‘we can’t give you a large haddock, we can only give you what’s cooked on the shelf’.She was really rude. I’ve been here many times before but I’ve always come across the owner serving me who himself is excellent! He always provides what you want with excellent customer service.

I try to go every Friday. Their food is so lush and great size portions, even the price is reasonable. Keep up the great work team you food is lush.

One of the best fish and chips in Birmingham! The fish, whether cod or haddock, is always superb and great value for money

Lovely food from this place. I asked one of the takeaway staff if we can eat in and she said yes sure just walk around after and continued to make our food.she packed our food and we walked around sat down and opened our food. As we was about to eat another member said we had to leave and can’t eat inside as it’s eat in only but yet the previous staff member said we can. Had to walk out with food box open in our hands…..

Best Chippy in Birmingham in my opinion. They do take away or you can sit in their restaurant. Has a lovely upstairs room where we sat last few times with several friends. Quite a bit of variety and very good size fish. Very friendly staff.👍

Tried the restaurant side of the Fish Bar. Great set up and surroundings. A good choice of fish dishes (plus other choices for those who don't want fish !). The food is reasonably priced for a restaurant setting. Staff are friendly and very polite. You can take your own bottle of wine. Well worth a visit.

This is another Fish & Chip shop that I’ve had on my “to do” list for a good while now. I arrived at 13:00pm today (Friday 24th September) as I wanted to dine in the staff told me to walk into the dining room next door and sit down and a member of staff will take my order. First impressions very clean and nicely decorated and perfect for families or friends. I decided to have cod and chips with a side salad. It arrived within 10 minutes presented on a nice platter with the chips in a small wire basket. I’ll get straight to the point the cod was amazing the batter crispy and light the chips bang on but wish the portion could of been bigger. But overall I would rate it as one of the better fish and chip shops I’ve eaten in Birmingham and will definitely be going again.

Bustling friendly take away in Kings Heath. there are often queues outside just because their food (which includes kebabs and an incredible steak and kidney pudding - the proper steamed suety kind) is spectacular. It is the best chippy in the West Midlands, there's nothing else needs to be said.

Great food, great service. Waitress apologised for how long we waited for the food (really not long at all) but it was because the haddock was so large it took a while to cook! Incredible portion size, absolutely delicious.

My cultural culinary roots are very much tied to the Fish and Chips takeaway. As simplistic as the experience can be, it can also, given the correct venue, offer an experience that pull on the heart strings. A fish and chip shop like Dad’s Lane Fish Bar took my expectations to a new level. First of all, it has a restaurant, which is themed to match its dishes. The service is friendly, warm and chatty with its Greek Cypriot roots. The owner informed me that the venue has been running for 15 years. It is obvious to see why. The food is sensational. Everything is prepared fresh. The fish is succulent. The chips have bounce and, given my lean, the peas had substance.I don’t remember enjoying fish and chips this much for a long long time. Dad’s Lane Fish Bar is up there with the mighty Bedders, arguably Birmingham’s finest. Thank you for offering a memorable experience.
