It's a really nice gym and pool, and has a lot of additional sessions you can take advantage of. The seating area is nice and it feels clean and safe. The price however keeps rising and it's not something I can justify when there are other facilities locally that are significantly cheaper (albeit not as nice).

Gym facilities aren't that great definitely better options out there. Having been on a platinum membership for a year, I can definitely say it was not worth the price.

Lovely and friendly staff both at reception and in the restaurant. Swimming pool and gym also nice. My problem is with the changing rooms. Or rather the lack thereof. They offer a family swim slot but don't even have any family changing rooms? Oh sorry they have the disabled toilet advertised as family changing room. Which is cramped with a toilet, sink, baby changing table and hardly any space. Also unless you want urine on your feet not the best place to clean and dress your 4 month old baby and 3 year old. We decided my husband would take the baby into the changing rooms with him since she's a baby and doesn't know any different rather than our 3 year old girl around men changing with everything hanging out. I took her into the female changing with me and there is LITERALLY one tiny cubicle which said no children. Didn't care. Took her in there with me. I don't need to change in front of the whole room, don't they think people want privacy?! Is this not normal? For that reason I would never return to this branch.

Rude reception staff at Great Barr. Staff member called Tracey was incredibly rude and patronising. Despite expressing our dislike for names like âdarlingâ and âsweetheartâ she carried on with them intentionally. She was unhelpful and failed to show any interest in our query. One of the rudest people I have ever come across. Definitely not someone that you want to keep on reception.

Attended to join David Lloyd's after a trial. I discussed freezing membership for a month due to fasting . I was told if I did this I wouldn't be able to return for 2 months. I asked the reason but they did not have one.

Great gym with swimming pool for the little ones & the aquatically inclined. Just more and more members, so less and less exclusive for the high fees, but still definitely recommended even if you may struggle to find the exact weights or space you'd like to have to exercise. Can be a bit a pricey but overall would recommend. definitely still worth it.

I have to say I was appalled at my last visit to David Lloyd. Was considering joining until I went on the badminton courts and saw the state the courts were in. I was more than disappointed. Absolutely filthy doesn't look like the floors have been swept or mopped for a very long time. Don't even get me started on the dust all around the court. Even the vents and fans look like they ain't had a wipe down in years. Really don't understand how they can justify charging so much and existing members spend time in so much filth. Yet this is the most expensive gym in Birmingham for memberships and meant to be the most prestigious gym. Left with my asthma triggered from all the dust unfortunately. Was only considering DL because my old gym doesn't have badminton courts definitely not worth it

There are better David Lloyd branches that are actually worth the money. Before moving back to Birmingham, I began training in a branch in Nottingham, and there is a noticeable difference in the quality of equipment. I've encountered much friendlier and more helpful staff in Nottingham than in this Birmingham branch. I am a young (black) girl who is already in shape and is currently maintaining her figure; however, while training there on a couple of occasions, I have experienced female staff members giving me dirty looks and portraying a frosty demeanour, which is quite disappointing because I would expect more effort from them to ensure club members feel comfortable training. AndI was lifting weights at the club today and there was fake tan all over the bars im not a happy club member I simply go due to the location being close to my house. If youâre looking for quality donât come here!

the steam room & sauna drastically needs to be hotter! itâs one of the only reasons I bought a membership & I love going to use the facilities but theyâre just not hot enough at all you donât feel like youâve even been in 1 đ please look into this asap a few other members have said the same as well

Absolutely love this place. Having moved from Bannatyne 2 yrs ago ,I never looked back. I like the set up with the swimming pool surrounded by cardio equipments and you can get full view of the place as one open space. The weights section is very good too. The only thing missing is a heavy punch bag for boxing!Trust me you will never regret a membership at this place đ
