Best onion bhajis in BrumWe used to come to this place all the time when we worked and socialised in Moseley (pre kids). 25 years later we returned with the kids and the place hasn't changed too much. It's a little classier than it used to be, prices have gone up slightly and you can now have the prime minister's special, the meal David Cameron had on a visit to the restaurant.Food still delicious and reasonbly priced. Enough food to talk half home with us to eat for lunch the next day.

One of the best curries we have ever had. I had the pasanda hot, my husband had the madras hot. Craving it every day now, had to restrict ourselves to once a week

First with the good: great old school atmosphere... You're not paying for super fancy nonsense here. Just a clean old fashioned restaurant in a warm setting. This is quite refreshing!I wasn't impressed with the condiments... The onion was way too chunky in the onion chutney. The mint sauce didn't have a kick and was rather bland. I feel a pickle tray or working on these two condiments would be a good idea. The mains were truly a pleasure to eat. My lamb jalfrezi and my friends chicken/lamb curry was perfectly cooked. The meat was tender and fell apart without effort. The flavor was still short of a home cooked curry, but it was not far from it.The naan and tandoori roti was cooked to perfection. The naan especially cooked just right, flaked up well and was perfectly soft inside. On price, it's more affordable than the competition. On portion - stick with one balti or karahi between two with starters between two. One standard naan is enough for the average person; get more on the fresh as and when you need it.Thank you :)

After reading the reviews to this place I was very keen on try it out, Soon as we walked in a gentlemen name (Turtur) was very disappointed to see us walk in. Before arriving to the restaurant we had call in so we was not late was told they take there last oder at 10.40,we arrived at 10.30. After very awkward rude welcoming finally sat on the table straight away we was told we have 20 mins to oder our starters and mains. I asked TurTur for his name then he accused my Mrs for recording him which she didn’t in a very rude aggressive intimating manner. Finally one of the staff came over and took over taking our oder. The food it self was very small portions and the taste 6/10 the Balti's are full of gravy and barley any meat. The worst bit of the experience was when speaking to the owner i spoke to him about the situation but didn’t get any sort of reaction from it like he didn’t care extremely careless and overall a very bad experience. Will not be returning.

We spent the weekend at a squash tournament and visited Diwan on Saturday night 9th Jan 2022 and we were so pleased we did.The food was simply superb, every dish tasted great and the naan breads were the best I've tasted in years. We all would whole heartedly recommend this restaurant.... One point of caution they dont serve alcohol so take your own if you want it!

Make a booking for 15 people paid a deposit of 150 its what they wanted. On the day 4 people could not make it, we told them when we arrived so they took one of the tables away so that it can be used and they don't hv to turn anyone away. They still charged us 9.00 forthe 4 that were not attending as they said we had booked for them. I thought that let them down. Other than that the food was lovely. The heating was on full blast, no windows opened at all and the server's was slow. There were too many people crammed in together. Would I go there again may be in the spring summer when windows can be open and an earlier sitting before it gets crowed.

Very nice food. It's been a while since I've been to a nice indian place. Staff very friendly. Not the largest of spaces to is possibly why it feels very welcoming.

This hit the spot! A proper Birmingham balti. The staff are really helpful in offering alternative dishes that are not on the menu. For instance, they made aloo chat Puri as a starter for us, as well as a balti with Naga. They also do a handful of baltis which you can try in 2 smaller dishes (I had the chicken tikka bhuna balti and the lamb dopiaza). Both so lovely. The naans were awesome too (peshwari and a garlic naan ordered). We tried their special rice....omg sooo nice. Tarka daal and saag paneer as sides. Couldn't fault any of it. Definitely a place to go when I come back to visit my hometown.BYOB which is an added bonus I think.Bill came to about £47.
