Golden City Chinese Takeaway in Birmingham

Place was mostly empty but clean and food was quite expensive but it was tasty. We ordered sizzling mussels which were delicious and crispy fried beef with prawn crackers.

Filled a hole, soulless, about as much atmosphere as a deflated hot air balloon. Trade was brisk with drivers collecting takeaways, food nothing to write home about let alone think let's go back, more like let's not bother and go Hungary.

I use to really love this place, food was full of flavour. But recently had a bad experience. Ordered food to collect. Told to come straight away. Arrived waited 10 minutes. Got home food was cold. I live less then 5 minutes away. 30 pounds wasted.

Chinese food , the set bowl is like school restaurant style🤣

Visited for a birthday meal. Reasonable prices, good service. Even adjusted dishes for us if they were too spicy for the kids. Will definitely visit again.

AVOID AVOID AVOID... Went for a meal here last night (our go to restaurant after visiting the Goose and been doing this for years) even ranting and raving to our friends how good this place is. Well shut the front door i’m absolutely disgusted how rude the man is, the main meal was full of salt. We asked for a doggy bag and the man throw it at us.Would totally avoid this place

Absolutely rude. I order an egg fried rice for collection. I forgot my phone In the car and although I gave them my name they insisted on the order number, which is fine. After going to car and providing my order number he insisted on me showing him the order number on my phone. This was for two egg fried rice. Checked deliveroo policy this is not a requirement. What annoyed me the most how rude they were. I have no problem compling with any policy. But speak to me like I am human. I will not be going hereagain

The food was good, but the customer service was horrible. On Google, it says the restaurant is to close at 11:30, but on arrival they told us we couldn't eat because they were closing. We had arrived at 10pm. They served us like they didn't want us around and made us rush our food which completely destroyed the experience.

Good food taste is amazing cooked well , down side the pricing has drastically gone up beside that friendly staff.

I've used this restaurant frequently for a year now, and I can safely say it's the best Chinese food in Selly Oak. The prices are very good and the service is always very quick. They have great lunchtime offers too.
