Hall Green Toby Carvery in Birmingham

We were regular visitors to the Toby Carvery Hall Green until the recent pandemic. This was our first time back and it was a very enjoyable visit. We were served by Fred who is very friendly, professional and a good laugh. We were there for my father’s 91st Birthday. The carvery was excellent the meat and all of the veg were very nicely cooked, we also had the pigs in blankets which were very tasty. Unfortunately they are closing for a month for refurbishment so sadly we can’t eat there on Mother’s Day, but will definitely be back when they reopen.

Nice warm, hearty food. The vegetarian option and gravy were tasty. I'd definitely have it again. We went quite late on a Tuesday evening, but food was still tasty, pudding delicious also. Can use Blue Light Card here also, which saved us money off the bill.

Great food however the king size is needed on a Sunday or you get barely any meat which I don't think is right.We were sat literally on top of a heater which was a pain and health safety issue.The waiteresses are very helpful and kind

It was awful. We went for breakfast, All the food was dried up and tasteless . The bacon was rock hard and the sausages looked like they had been there for a few days . With covid still hanging around I would have thought they had single portion jams they didn't . They had a bowl of jam . They only had fried eggs , the black pudding has been removed . I couldn't eat it

Been using the hotel next door for almost a year as working in area therefore the Toby gets used a couple of times a week, always find the staff helpful & friendly, foods always been good & reasonably priced plus Sky TV if that's your thing. Can't fault it for what it offers 👍

First time for me here.had a carvery lunch.i had the turkey and beef and was very nice but not much of it.the veg was a bit overdone really and the roasts more like small baked potatoes as the skins were so tough. Don't think Ile be back in a hurry.

Food was okay and helpful staff. Some of the vegetables were luck warm and the beef was very bry. Shame about the toilets. They remembered me of a old working mens club. Definitely needed a revamp in the men's. Very off putting when I just wanted to wash my hands.

Disappointing breakfast experience. Not having visited before we were unaware of the self service and sat for a while before finding out (a member of staff told us after half an hour). Food was mediocre at best, hot drinks incurred an extra charge. Beverage table and toast table set apart from food counter with no signage to help.

What can you say about a well prepared roast dinner. I enjoyed every bite. My only niggle is I would like a non family area to enjoy the meal in. Will be back when the mood takes me for that good old British favourite.

i haven't been for a carvery for a good while and i wasn't disappointed...the food was tasty and was enjoyed by us all. our server Paige was very welcoming attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. we will be back keep up the great service
