Harry Ramsden's in Birmingham

This place is spotlessly clean. The food was cooked to order by the very helpful staff and was fresh, hot and tasty. Yes, it cost about £5 more than the same order from an ordinary fish and chip shop. However, for freshly cooked food, that hadn't sat in a warmer. I felt it was worth it.

I think the quality of the chips are awful they are hard and they don't taste like twice fried I'm extremely disappointed. The quantity of chips are disgraceful I wish I could upload the picture I took of the amount of chips in a regular size portion of fish n chips for £5.99, it's a disgrace defiantly not good value for money. I heard a customer ask for more chips she said could you be more generous with the chips #HarryRamsden staff advised they couldn't has no more chips were available I was served after this lady and there was more chips. The assistant scraped out the remaining chips for me, when I got home and opened the box it was alarming the portion was minimal. I took a pic and I will be returning to the shop to complain this is daylight robbery.. I would not recommend #HarryRamsden Wolverhampton rd Birmingham it's bad.

Really fancied nice fish and chips.. what a disappointment. Fish was average at best and twice cooked chips were more like yesterdays chips recooked and hard as bullets, not nice. In my opinion go the extra half mile to George and Helens on Court Oak Rd..

Eat there with my husband, great atmosphere and really good food. The portions was really good and I was filled up with the regular size of fish and chips, really good value for money. The staff is really helpful.

Used to love this restaurant however since it has changed hands I'm far from impressed . The chips are no longer the same and they no longer offer the option of the chips being cooked in beef dripping . They don't offer the crayons and colouring for the children . We ordered 3 children's meals and then ordered the ice cream to be told they had ran out but they still wanted us to pay for it . The service from the new staff is no longer warm and inviting . We will not be visiting this restaurant again . Such a shame as it was one of our favourites.

We have eaten at a number of Harry Ramsden's over the years and have always had great food and service and also visited here when it was Chamberlain's. This was our second visit since Ramsden's took it over and we have been dissapointed on both occasions. The chips were dry and hard, the fish was sloppy the portions were small and no salt and vinegar even though I asked for it. Add to this a very long wait for overpriced food and the whole experience was pretty awful.This chippy does not deserve to bear Harry Ramsden's name and we certainly won't be making the mistake of visiting again.

Have to say havent noticed the difference had the cod and chips 2 weeks ago and they were lovely. Curry sauce was lovely two. Like the Harry Ramsden's in Merry Hill. Have to say the portions are bigger. Have to say the bag was much better carrying.

Great service, good take-away, plenty of certificates to read whilst waiting for your fresh cooked produce.The fish was perfectly fresh, perfectly cooked and perfectly battered.The chips were of such poor quality that I threw them away. Warm/cool, bendy, pasty taste with green and brown tinges to some ends and edges.(Sunday 4 Jan 2015, 12:30p.m.)

Firstly may i say seldom do you come across such quality fish and chip shops these days, however Chamberlains was a pleasant surprise and i would recommend them highly to anyone looking for that quality fish and chip meal.Kudos to the management for running a clean and welcoming atmosphere which is not the norm in many fast food restaurants. The service was friendly and quick, the food itself was of impeccable quality. Fresh Fish and Golden Chips a great meal, i will be returning here more often.

Eaten here on numerous occasions, with guests and none of us have ever been disapointedThe service and food is of the top most quality and if they issued 5 stars for a fish and chip eatery you would be at the top of the list.If in doubt take the plunge, place your order and enjoy !!
