Los Banditos Mexican Bar & Grill in Birmingham

Lovely food but ridiculous service! Drinks came out one at a time and very slowly, asked for the bill and was still waiting for it 30 mins later and had to go to the bar and ask again. Were not given a bill so couldn’t check and it took forever to pay. Do not recommend this place if you want speedy or good service.

The cocktails are great here. As for the food it’s ok. We ordered chicken strips and received 3 tiny what looked like balls of chicken so not worth £6.95. The staff were all female and to be honest didn’t really care if you enjoyed your food or not that was my impression. It’s not cheap for what you get food wise and quality but as I say the cocktails 2 for £12 great value but wouldn’t hurry back sorry.

Came in here a few days ago with family and friends, I have to say we had such a lovely time, the atmosphere and staff were so welcoming and friendly and they accommodated to all of our needs (a lot of us are veggie/gluten free and also had a few allergies)The food was amazing, large portions are packed full with flavour and the drinks, especially the cocktails were the best we’ve had in a long time (especially the cosmo and baileys martinis)Will definitely be telling everyone about this hidden gem and so excited to come in summer to see the new refurb out the back!10/10 absolutely loved it and would highly recommend.

Absoloutly shocking this place is, my partner orderd 2 veggie burritos and 1 chicken burrito, and 2 veggie tacos. The chicken Burito come packed in the veggie box, stating it was vegetarian however this was not the case as my partner bit into what he thought was a veggie burrito, for it to be actually chicken.. upon complaining to the shop, the manager said they were too busy to deal with it and would call me back.. they never called back so my partner left a goggle review for the owner to respond calling him a lier and that he couldn't produce the receipt, so he did produce the receipt and here is the response we got!! Attached is the actual receipt for the food orderd and the discusting response from the owner..

We had a fantastic night at Los Banditos. We ordered the fish stew and the T-bone steak. The food was genuinely beautiful. Really large portions, extremely tasty and perfectly cooked and presented. The service was great too. We can't recommend Los Banditos enough. It's a great place!!

First time that I've visited and absolutely loved it, staff made us feel welcome and were very helpful. Would definitely eat there again in the near future

I like the vibe here. I had chilli nachos without meat and a pint of IPA for around a tenner. Good food and pleasant service.There are other veggie options available.Plenty of parking spaces (for one hour at peak times) but can get busy. Fee paying car park across the road

Lovely food and cocktails, friendly service and good atmosphere. Only lost one star, as we sat by the door and it was a bit chilly when people were coming in or leaving. Would definitely go again.

Nice place, atmosphere is not too loud either so good for conversation etc. The food is nice, not amazing though. The portion size is generous and the food does have flavor. The staff are nice and pleasant and make light conversation. I had an issue with cutlery (I'm very OCD when it comes to cutlery) but this nobody can be blamed for a dishwasher 🤷🏽

Poor staff...poor food...Sadly, this is the first ever negative review I have felt strongly enough to write about. I have never taken pictures of food before but thought that I would to support this review.This was the first time that my family had gone out for a meal since lock down. We looked for somewhere that had outdoor seating available (for obvious reasons)-The seating area was very clean and fresh.Throughout the duration of our time here, the staff seemed to be very confused and didn't appear to know what they were doing or what was going on with regards to orders etc. When our food did arrive, it was extremely disappointing/shambolic. Nachos were soggy with a thick like consistency. The topping of sour creme and chicken was better but hugely salty. The calamari was straight from frozen packet-limp and lifeless on the plate. The best part of the meal was grilled halloumi. My husband had a burrito but said that he wish we hadn't gone here to eat- ate it begrudgingly. Kids had a fish finger and chip meal- bog standard, nothing special.The restaurant is participating in the 'eat out to help out' scheme, but I really wouldn't waste your time, effort or money. I understand that the hospitality sector has taken a huge hit during this pandemic, but what we experienced today will not help it move forward in the future. We won't be returning OR recommending.
