This used to be a fantastic chippy. Always went there. Fancied chips last night so got the mini fish and chips. It was absolutely disgusting. Reheated chips with the texture of cardboard. The fish was wet inside the batter even though the batter was rock hard on the outside. Don't even know how that is possible. The fish tasted off. I put most of it in the bin. About 8 hours later, the bit I had eaten came back with a vengeance! Avoid this place. They clearly don't care what they're serving people.

Used to be a lovely chip shop but last couple of times haven’t been great. The chicken is really dry and there are never many pieces available. It’s hit and miss whether you’re going to get fresh chips too. The staff aren’t the friendliest either, I think they have new management. It’s okay but nothing special.

The lady behind the counter seems to be the only person working there; she doesn’t wear a mask, and is constantly coughing, the chips taste like they have been reheated several times! The prices are exorbitant, you better off going down the opposite way to the top of the high street and going to classics or big John’s!

Not one decent review in the past year. Only the rats approve of the food hence, all the rat droppings they've just been had up for. Buck up your ideas and you could make a comeback!

Don’t know what’s happened lately as it used to be pretty good, but tonight’s meals were AWFUL. The chips managed to be both hard and chewy at the same time... as though they were reheated from the night before, and the fish was the same. Not at all enjoyable and regretting our decision. Will not be coming back again.

I'm having to change my previous rating (4*) following a change of ownership (but no change of name) - don't be fooled, what used to be a cracking little family run chippy ran with love, care and passion is now one of the worst takeaways in the area. It's no longer a fish bar, it doesn't know what it is, lots of rancid dry looking chicken (goodness knows how many hours/days previously it was cooked and how many times its been reheated), choice of kebabs and generic 'fish' and chips on the menu but tbh the chips were so oily and just depressingly bad. I wouldn't feed this stuff to my dog, never mind recommend it.

Used to be the only chippy I would use, went there tonight and was horrified, all the chicken looked dry and hard like you would break your teeth, the rest of the food on offer looked like it was over cooked and had been sitting there all day. Played it safe and ordered pie and chips and savoloy and chips, chips was mainly crackings and not the quality that the previous owners served. Pie was ok and my son ate the savoloy but didnt want the chips. When I was getting served the lady had served the lady behind me wrong so she opened up the roe and chips, removed the roe and emptied the chips back into the friar even though they had salt and vinegar on. Anyone with allergies I recommend to avoid. Anyone in general should avoid as the cheaper chippys in erdington are much better quality then this place. I wont be using again

Used to love this chippy but after new ownership it's so poor i wouldnt feed it to my dog, i had battered sausage which I could have broken a window with, chips that were undercooked and dry, even the pukka pie was no good, how do you ruin a pukka pie? Ill never go there again, dont know what her name was but the indian lady who ran it before did a much better job. It's no longer a good quality chippy with friendly staff but yet they still charge the prices

Used to be best chip shop in Erdington with friendly staff and quality food. Now its changed hands and its probably the worst in Birmingham. Staff barely able to speak English, chips dripping in cheap cooking oil, yuk .

Best chip shop Iv been to by far!! Extremely clean, very friendly staff, high quality products no cheap rubbish, seating area and good prices would highly recommend anyone to try this guarantee you won't be disappointed!! New owner give this guy a chance don't disrespect him by asking if halal etc it's not! And he's a good hardworking man!!
