We ordered chicken mince rice with shawarma and pasta with salmon. Food was nice and fresh. It was very busy at that time. Food didn't take long to come.Chicken shawarma was more spicy than expected but juicy and yummy. There is free parking on the road.Tables needed cleaning .... probably short of staff, that's why 1 star less.Overall good experience and will go again.

A Birmingham institution that, like a lot of places, looks to be feeling the effects of the pandemic. The drop off in quality means this is another place that moves onto the "avoid" list.A single portion of mix sherpur special biryani comes with, I estimate, a cup of oil poured over. Barely edible and greasy beyond belief. I know its donner meat, not the most healthy of foods to begin with, but there's no excuse for a plate to be dripping in oil. And if a dish is served as spicy, that doesn't mean you heap a bunch of chilli powder over it last minute without cooking the spices...The grilled chicken burger has to be the most bland burger I've had in recent memory, no seasoning, thrown straight onto a grill and cooked until it's so tough that it's inedible. Waste of 5 quid. The naga sherpur on naan is fine, but even this isn't what it once was. If you want to come here this is the only thing worth ordering. The place is clean but there are no toilets / handwashing facilities even though there are probably 20 seats. The place is like a freezer, if you visit late in the evening like we did, make sure you bring your mittens and hot water bottles. And seriously, no card payments? In 2022?

Ideally 3.5 stars, the Sherpur Donner meat was nice as always, however a bit disappointed with the masala fish in naan which tasted like the fish pakora you get at weddings. Based on the sherpur Donner meat spices, I was expecting the masala fish to be full of "masala" but it had very subtle flavours. Large portions aren't very large and the sauce tubs are tiny so if you buy takeout and like chilli sauce, be sure to ask for extras. Overall the food was nice.

Wow what a disappointment. Visited Shazanz after it was highly praised by the YouTube Vlogger, Halal Food Travel Guy. However, I'm certainly never going to listen to such false and highly exaggerated reviews again! Walked in and the first thing that struck me was the smell. Due to the relatively small size of the establishment and the lack of any noticeable ventilation, i'm sorry to say that it smelled like a chicken coop!!!I glanced around the seating area whilst waiting to be served and noticed tables that hadn't been thoroughly cleaned and a strange patch on the roof above my head. However, I braved the initial disappointment and placed my order which was taken rather mechanically without any real enthusiasm and bordering on rude by the person serving me. The order was a takeaway and my thoughts about the food were nothing to write home about. Naga Pasty was large and filled with a sweet tasting mushy donnar filling and the chicken donnar itself was almost like a fine paste in the same sweet sauce. The grilled fish was rather bland. I honestly don't understand the hype?

This place is just what I was looking for. Its one of those if you know you know places. β™₯️The menu is varied from fish, chicken and meat, steamed, plus steamed vegetables for those who like to eat cleanπŸ’ͺ, to kebabs and donner with a specialist touch. It's also a special place for chilli lovers with their own recipe naga sauce.....which is hot but great. Go ahead and try it even just a small dip on a chip😜I noticed the menu had a dish called Staff Curry. I worked as a delivery driver for a curry house back in the day so, I knew exactly what that was. It's home style cooking meat or chicken curry. I ordered it of course and it was delicious. Hat's off to them for adding that to the menu, because as the food trends change its important that the original back home or even dishes like tikka masala remain. This pays homage to the elders that struggled to establish the restaurant trade.I have since taken 2 people to this place and they also loved it.πŸ‘ŠKeep up the good work lads. See you sooner than later.πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ‘ŠπŸ‘ŠπŸ‘ŠπŸ€²πŸ’š
