Wasn't expecting a child's portion of fish and chips when I ordered my dinner... The picture is as it arrived. Gastro pub is one thing but this is having a laugh! Less than 10 chips on the plate and a tiny piece of fish! This place was recommended to me, I won't be coming back!

Sad to have to say this. But as a level 8 Google reviewer I understand the importance of being honest. But for the third time this year Ive been disappointed with the portion sizes. Some of the dishes are so small now so I've downgraded my review. I literally thought I had been given a starter for my mains. Went home and had a sandwich.Service Charges as well which I'm sure wasn't around when they reopened?I know everywhere has more expense now with staff and ingredients. But seriously I've never seen such small chicken and fish portions, ever!Having said that, food is tasty staff are friendly and as lots of others say, service is still slow and can be chaotic. We had given drinks orders and nothing arrived etc. But its fine these guys are rushed off their feet so relax and embrace it I say.Just don't be so mean on the portions pls!

Beautiful as always. Visited now several times at different times of year for lunch, dinner and Sunday lunch. Always stunning meals. Would highly recommend especially as the last one was for my 50th birthday too

We visit on Friday and the weather was amazing, so we decided to go down to our local beer garden. Was very busy which was expected with the amazing garden you have. The atmosphere in the pub was amazing and the staff still in high spirits considering how hot it was. Food was amazing and the service was exceptional. Our server was Lauren and was very attentive. We can’t wait to be visiting more over the summer

This place has changed so much since my last visit a few year's ago. The place looks really well and the food was absolutely fantastic!!! The staff we're lovely & the drinks looked nice too. The reason for only the 3 stars is the disabled parking. The cars that were parked in these bays had NO Blue badges on show. And this was on a Monday when it's quiet. So just be mindful if you're going at the weekend and you need a disabled parking bay.

Visited yesterday for Sunday lunch and booked at short notice. Despite being told that the kitchen was understaffed, the food was prompt and absolutely delicious. Roast was excellent (we had beef and chicken) and served with veg, gravy and cauliflower cheese on the side. Would definitely return!

Staff were excellent. Food superb - I had the best fish pie i have ever tasted. It contained scallops, prawns, salmon, cod and mussels, topped with a lovely herby crust potato topping. We used the pub as a stop over, whilst walking the grand Union canal. Staff kindly let us keep our camper in car park overnight. Lots of sheltered and heated outdoor space to eat outside if you prefer. It also had an outdoor bar. Electric charging units available as well. Can't recommend enough.

Food nice, reasonably priced. Out door area is nice. Staff were friendly and polite. Just took a while to get drinks served for table service or for someone to bring bill and sort payment outOtherwise a fairly pleasent experience

As soon as we entered The boat assistant manager Tammy could not do enough for us very professional it was nice to see that she also worked behind the bar setting a good example to the rest of the staff. She make sure all the customers were all happy. The last time we came to The boat was about 3 years ago it was good then and now it's had a revamp it is even better the food was delicious nicely presented l would just like to say a big thank you to the chefs. I would definitely recommend The boat and I will be back again
