Not a pub we use regularly, visited because we were taking our grandson to Hickery Dickery soft play.We had a nice meal and drinks at very reasonable prices, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the locals seem to be a nice crowd with one even bringing our grandson some crayons and sheet of paper to draw with.Would definitely recommend visiting.

Another poor experience at JD's -this one by far the worst. It was closing time. Manager raised his voice for us to leave, took my food -it wasn't finished. My drink was untouched. Refused to give me a refund. Then when I had gone to the bathroom before leaving, he was talking about me to his colleagues; unbeknownst to him we were still in the building and my friend overheard everything, him saying not so nice things about me. Of course when we were leaving the building, I decided to confront him respectfully. He was rude, aggressive and hostile.I'll never go here again!

Absolutely disgusted after lunch with friends today. I visit wetherspoons all over the country and never had a bad experience.Today just two bar staff at lunchtime. Many items missing on menu and hot drink machine. Filthy table and worse food any of us ever had

Friendly staff (even when overworked) and food is of constant quality at very good price, generally served quickly. This place is always clean.

Blonde manager on shift tonight in the green top (6/11/21) abruptly told me and my group to leave drinks inside to go out the back for cigarettes. Kindly told her that we don’t feel comfortable leaving drinks on the side due to reports of spiking etc, she then accused one of our group of being rude and shouting. I appreciate safety etc and licenses, but she didn’t appreciate our concerns of leaving drinks unattended during a time of national reports of spiking. After working in pubs myself, she of all people must realise the concerns of young people in this establishment. Next time at least ensure you have signs which are visible to the customer that they cannot bring drinks outside. AVOID if you don’t want to take precautions in getting spiked.

Shocking treatment from a manager (blonde Bob hair) tonight, 6th November 2021, with zero regards for women’s safety in these current times. She accused us of “biting her head off” for taking our drinks outside during what is an incredibly serious situation city-wide of spiking and drug injections. In the current climate it’s terrifying for young women to go out and feel safe, and this manager had no concerns for us leaving our drinks inside unattended. She would rather us leave drinks inside to adhere to her pubs “rules” than for us to feel safe and protected from spiking. Avoid this pub and this manager in particular - her reaction was highly unprofessional and embarrassing to the company she works for.

Went for a meal and was shocked at service received. The tables were all sticky and no one was cleaning them. Had to ask for it to be cleaned, which was then done with a dry cloth. Order steak with chips and peppercorn sauce. My meal was fine, however my partner's was shocking. His chips were full of black eyes, his peppercorn sauce was stone cold and his steak was cold. After going to complaine no apology was offered and then staff asked what we expected them to do about it. This is not what you expect when you are paying for food. Will not be going here again

We went for breakfast to be told by Freya she is too busy to help us when ordering on the app. She helped the group of men who came after and were eating. I am a brown person and felt like my face didnt fit with the server Freya. Another server Mia was wonderful she helped us with the app and then sorted our food. Our experience was 6 out of 10 and most of that is for mia customer service skills.

Had a really nice cold pint today in a relaxing environment with extremely polite and friendly staff..obviously Covid restrictions still apply (no mask no entry) but i was made to feel welcome and the place was busy but not crammed for an establishment that still had a good buzz of life ...yet to try the food but Jess the manager assured me that they keep to the high standards across Wetherspoons chain ...thanks Jess for making the day memorable..my rating today is 4⭐⭐⭐⭐'s but can be put to 5⭐'s if the food comes up to scratch 😎
