The Old Hare and Hounds in Birmingham

Visited lunchtime in mid week staff seemed very serious - not very friendly, no smiles just very matter-of-fact. Took the food order, delivered the order - no real interaction no friendliness. Wouldn’t rush back!!! Rating of experience 4/10

Must say just had a lovely meal with the wife calm and relaxed friendly staff and the beef dripping gravy was delicious 😋 could drink it by the pint 👌

Nice pub, great choice of beers (Proper Job, Ubu). Good choice of 'pub food'. Service was friendly. Excellent prices. Very enjoyable experience.

It's been thirty years since I was last here. What a transformation nicely done out and comfortable. Much better than I remember. Had a lovely evening with friends. Great service ,friendly staff and excellent food. Will be returning soon.

Really nice location with very pleasent and helpful staff. The venue can be a little cold and drafty if they have not lit the log fires that are available. Some of the furniture is old and rustic, perhaps too much so and could do with changing

Don’t mind dogs in the bar part of the pub, but NOT a place that you are eating at! Come on gaffer DONT let people let there dogs on the chairs and tables whilst eat there Sunday dinners. I’m all for dog friendly pubs as take mine but think an eating area should be no dogs allowed and after sitting in the pub Sunday and watching a family allow their dog to sit on the chair as well as sit on the table is a massive NO NO regardless of sanitisation

As with all pubs going down the restaurant side of things they are not bothered about the drinking punters standing at the bar waiting to be served.... It's getting a sorry state... Only 2 serving both taking food orders... Come on.. When is pub a pub

Really enjoyed the Wednesday night quiz at The Old Hare and Hounds, great fun. So glad they are dog friendly now as our little dog wants to go everywhere with us! All the staff were lovely. Definitely recommend.

Not great. Crowded. Bar staff with rolling tabaco in top pocket avoiding making eye contact, felt like I needed to apologise to ask to be served. Clearly that member of staff was on a night out himself only the other side of the bar. Whilst being served, clearly a regular reported a drink was flat and bar staff replied with rude hand gesture. Whilst I'm.sure it was in jest, not a great first impression.Food tasty but portion size not greatHad the mushroom and bacon(no bacon) pasta with what was reportedly a chicken breast(small). Again, tasted good but Just too small for the price tag.Overall felt uncomfortable being there. Ate and soon left. No rush to return.atmosphere not the best and clearly the pub attracts that clientele.

Went for a meal today during the pandemic. I think the pub is under new management as you can tell the improvement in service straight away. We was greeted at the door, shown where to enter our car registration for the free car park space. What I wanted was on the old menu, but the kitchen cooked it for me anyway. Delicious meal and the customer service was superb. They do a nice pint of Guiness, there is ample parking and it is not expensive. Will definitely be returning.
