This is bedders fish and chips in Birmingham

I’m a regular customer here been coming here for years as I do come here during lunch time. Recently the food quality has been off. I brought fish and chips today however the fish quite over cooked and very oily. I enjoyed the bread and butter tho. The place is very nice and cosy, food quality could definitely improve. Especially when you pay £10 for quality fish and chips.

If there's anywhere else in the Midlands that does better fish and chips please tell me, freshly cooked to perfection, with peas and gravy if you want or a free portion of chopped onions in vinegar .and a freshly brewed cup of leaf tea And lovely service with a smile, .

I can't believe this place is still in business !..pictured is their fish and chips priced at £7. This is without doubt the most paltry sized serving iv ever recieved in my 45 years on earth. The fish was 5..6" at best and definitely qualified as a mini-fish.To be just, the taste wasn't bad per se butnowhere near the best iv tasted. I had cod and chips up in Yardley last week and could just about finish it so recieving this kid-size portion was dissapointing.

Great for parking, average service but really poor quality of cod. Small piece of fish compared to Mother Hubbard's and incredibly greasy too. Travel down the road and get yourself a decent meal. I regret paying £7 for a fish and chips. I can't stress how poor the quality is of the fish. Greasy and small. Avoid. Try any other shop that sells real cod. It's like the Man United of chip shops, surviving on past glory.I can't understand why people rave about Bedders, it's below average at best, maybe it's nostalgia, clearly they've been left in the past in terms of quality and shop fittings. In conclusion: fish was horrible,chips were okay. Next time I'll stick with Papa Ge's or Mother Hubbard's.If it was any other shop I'd go in and ask for a refund but I think I'll have my behind handed to me here, the staff don't stand for any inconvenience.

Straight to the point spent 9 pounds 50 pence for cod chips peas gravy one slice of bread and butter and tea I'm 57 next birthday and for the money this is the worst ever everything apart from the tea wa greasy medium warm the gravy was warm water cheapest tasteless gravy bread and butter had look feel of being out since last night the 🐟 was shaped nothing like a fish very of putting don't think it was cod either all pulled on a small plate with the grace and conviction who doesn't give a dam the whole set up is a poor show

Our Family was Regular since 1980’s. Travel 10 miles to get there..At one time queue formed outside door ,everyday.1st visit today since covid pandemic. New owners.Please get advice from John (original owners) on how to serve quality fish n chips with a smile..Awful in all respect incl £8 for small cod , chips and mushy peas..Bedders reputation down the drain!

Eat In Order: Two Battered Cod and Chips, 2 Battered Sausages, with sides of Peas, Gravy, Onions, 2 slices of Bread, a cup of Tea, a Pepsi can and chilli sauce.I had been wanting to try here ever since heard of it! As it's close and nicely priced. Must I say this beat my expectations, we both said it was the best fish & chips place we'd ever been too! All the food was so fresh, tastes incredible! Amazing textures, the batter was perfect. Went down amazingly.The Staff were ever so lovely, so acommidating and kind. We were so satisfied with our whole experience and we can't wait to come again.Thank you ever so much, I'm so glad to of enjoyed fish again with a chippy.Also guys the cleanliness it super, very nice in there!

If you like paying 1.60 for battered sausage, which is a small sausage with hard batter on then come here, you don't even get to choose a large option but they charge like it is. I couldn't believe portion sizes. Chips tasted greasy, and curry sauce was watery. They don't do a full menu like Saveloy,pie etc. They don't even do a sausage but do a battered version...I understand the management has changed as used to be my grandads favourite but not anymore.Staff could also be alot more friendly don't even smile

I come to bedders with my brother today, and I have to say this was one of the best fish & chips I've had in years, the fish batter was crispy and light and the chips were light and fluffy, gravy or mushy peas come with the meal along side with slices of bread & butter with a drink or your choice, which is great value for money, sit down meal is £9:50, the portion size is just right you definitely feel stuffed when you leave, highly recommended this location if you fancy some remarkable fish and chips from the chefs there, customer service is excellent aswel, the guy that served me was really polite and makes you feel welcome. So all in all was definitely a 10/10 experience, I use to come when I was younger and the food was great then and havent been in years, and it's nice to see even after all these years, they still cooking with the same quality.

Mike’s Fish & Chips shop is so far The Best in Birmingham! Delicious fish and hand cut chips, friendly and extremely quick stuff all accomplished with cozy traditional atmosphere. Highly recommend l, so don’t hesitate to pay a visit and enjoy proper fish & chips.Thanks
