Bell & Cross in Bromsgrove

Visited Wednesday lunchtime around 13.45. Really quiet. Couple of gents talking in front of an open roaring fire, just the thing on a cold February day. We ordered Tempura Plaice and Flat Iron Steak, pictures attached, and must admit that the food was sooooo good. Obviously freshly prepared the tempura batter was light and the plaice delicious as was the accompanying pea shoot salad with added tasty feta. The steak was tender and juicy and if you like MacDonalds fries these are better. Unfortunately service was a bit slack 😕 given it was relatively quiet. We had to go and ask what had happened to our second drink and when it arrived the ice and lemon was missing from my drink. We’d visit again especially as there is a large drinking area at the rear of the pub - roll on the summer.

Service was excellent but food was pricey for what we had. Main course of roast beef Sunday lunch £18.95 was good but not exceptional for the price. Sweets were quite tiny for £7.95.

Always fantastic food and fantastic service. Really lovely staff too. We go here every year for our anniversary and it's always a great experience

Popped in for a drink during the day, ended up staying for a few hours. Really cosy with open fire and friendly atmosphere. Lovely place to go.

When we arrived the first impression was how stark and bare the interior was. To be frank we weren't impressed. However, when the food arrived, our impressions changed. It Iooked lovely and the portions were ample to say the least. As to the taste, well, excellent is the only word. Very good indeed. The Thai monkfish and prawn curry was as good or better than any I have hadin actual Thai restaurant's and my wifes beef equally good. ( maybe a touch more of the superb gravy, would have been nice). All in all we would recommend this pub to anyone that enjoys good food.And the icing on the cake, the two of best draught beers you can buy.

Unfortunately there are not many of these pubs around anymore. Excellent service, a good choice of drinks and incredible food from what we had on our first visit. We're still yet to try the main menu but will do soon. This has now become our new local. Thank you for your great service.

Sadly I have to give a one star, hot pot looked like a re-heated ready meal and tasted salty. Steak was burnt, when asked for medium to well done, beef was bland and carrots looked like they were not washed. Didn't risk desert, had a some money knocked of the bill. Waiting staff were very friendly and nice, however, didn't like seeing the kitchen staff and chef smoking in a group before preparing our meals. In fairness we visited just before xmas, so might be a one off, but, too expensive to risk again though.

I found this little gem while traveling round the clent hills.Lovely decor and big huge garden.Was lucky enough to visit this place before covid hit and they were amazing. just look at the photos if you don't believe me.The bbq box as it was called was honestly to die for. it was a sharer and just amazing.The passion fruit cheesecake was also just OMG, the chef really made something good there.I am giving them a 4* as they suffered a little when covid hit and wasn't performing at there best wheni ordered something for delivery but i am happy to go visit these guy again in the new year as there a lovely place.

Absolutely first rate food. Interesting menu with fresh and local produce. Garden has been converted into comfortable covid secure area. Attentive service. Very good choice of beers and ales. Top notch.

My new "local" great choice of beers wines and spirits. Nice and friendly village pub. Great to sit down and have a drink with the log burner. Great food nice selection something for everyone on the menu. Food fresh, cooked to order really tasted amazing. Service was attentive and welcoming. Would highly recommend.
