Just love this place! Tables laid out well. Quite a few booths too. Staff are always friendly too. What sets it apart? They warm the plates for breakfast!

Usually a good place to enjoy a range of fine beers at unbeatable prices, but made the mistake of ordering food on a Friday evening, presentation, quality and quantity was apalling and we're suffering the consequences today. I think it would be better to stop serving food when there's clearly no chef on duty.

Food is as expected the comes out fast depending on how busy plenty range of drinks and big area for families to sit and enjoy there time prices are cheap

Food was enjoyable,not a long wait....drinks very reasonable,served by great staff.

Good price, good food, but cutlery came to us dirty and when I say dirty I don't mean a smudge, there was full on food on all of it.

My review keeps getting removed.If you don't mind waiting 16 minutes for a drink via the app then this is the place for you. Place an order via, waited 16 minutes, but they serve 7 people standing at the bar who came in after I placed my order. God knows why they would only have two people on the bar on a Saturday afternoon when the place is busy. All of the tables still had dirty plates on from previous diners, I asked a member of staff if they could remove the dirty plates from the table, but I was told I would have to wait because she's only working on the bar, in the end I had to move the stuff myself along with quite a few other people who had to do the same. I ordered a pint of strongbow, that came in a fosters glass, I ordered a pint of fosters which came in a Heineken, and a pint of thatchers gold that came in a Heineken glass. For the hour that I was here, i saw people walk in and walk straight back out. When I left, I could still see 9 tables that were empty, but still had dirty food plates and empty drink glasses on the tables that had not been cleared. Everyone resulted to the stacking all the dirty plates on to a single table... I WILL NOT BE RETURNING HERE AGAIN.

Lovely local pub. Staff is very polite and food was always good and in reasonable time served. Ordered using the app.

Hi all, I'm not a wetherspoons fan but the Golden cross is the exception to the rule. It's was clean friendly and good food 👍 The atmosphere was fab and the staff helpful and friendly. 🤓
