Lots of good things about this restaurant. Poppadoms and chutneys were way better than average, truly excellent. Service was very good. It was clean and a nice environment.Starters and curries were good. Lots of choice on the menu, some creative dishes that sounded worth a try.The tandoori chicken in the curry was a bit meh. The paneer was delicious. Nan bread was top drawer.Overall a very pleasant experience but quite pricey I thought. Inflation kicking in hard but happy to pay it. Hospitality industry is taking serious pain.

Nice place, friendly staff, nice curry but the pilau rice ordered was NOT pilau rice it was tri coloured basmati rice. Pilau rice is a golden yellow colour and is made by turmeric, a natural food colouring agent, which dyes the rice during the cooking process. It's also often spiced with cumin seeds, cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon. When I questioned the staff about the rice I was told it's the same rice? Err no it's NOT! Apart from the rice mistake a nice curry.

Always a great night out with great food. The staff are very helpful and can't do enough for you. Will definitely recommend and certainly will be visiting again.

Went to the Shabab on Thursday after watching a show at The Prince of Wales Theatre. Booked a table for 4 at 10pm. We arrived a little early, ordered some drinks and was promptly taken to our table. Had poppadoms and chutney tray for starters and then went straight to mains. I had the South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken with pilau rice and a Saag Nan bread. The food was absolutely superb, plenty of it and so flavoursome. The total cost of the meal for 4 people was just over £40 including drinks (2 for 1 on mains). Will definitely be going back. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. 5 stars from me.

We have been going here for years , food and service always great.Asked for fish recommendation, this was amazing with Balti sauce and mushroom rice , 👍👍

The food was outstanding, the curry and the meat were both cooked perfectly. Good portion size and great value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful too. Will definitely be going back.

As good as everyone tells you. Love it, love the atmosphere, love the food and the staff. A great dining out experience.
