Stag's leap in Cannock Chase

Extremely disappointed with the overall customer service at this venue. I had booked a dining table for 8:30pm, we were meeting some friends, 4 of us in total. Myself and my partner arrived early around 7:50pm. Our friends were going to be around a further 15 minutes. On arrival, we were told the kitchen stopped serving at 8pm. I showed the supervisor our booking and let him know I had a booking for 8:30pm. He preceded to tell me that the kitchen closed at 8pm and therefore we needed to order by this point. We carried on and got a drink in hope that our friends would arrive in time (even though our booking wasn’t till 8:30pm). At 7:55pm, the supervisor (Arron) came across to the table and again repeated that we needed to order within 5 minutes otherwise we wouldn’t be able to eat there. His attitude was appalling, this was not our fault and yet he had absolutely no solution and instead tried to make us look stupid in front of other customers. He even tried to argue with us at the table, saying that we had booked the wrong table online (even though I have a screen shot of the ‘dining’ booking). Just before 8pm I received another email, which stated that our 8:30pm booking had now been cancelled. We left at 8pm and got a refund on our drinks as we were no longer able to eat at your venue, upon leaving Arron continued to be rude, being extremely sarcastic as we left the venue. We met our friends on the car park at 8:05pm, technically we would have been 25 minutes early. However, because we were ‘5 minutes’ after the kitchen closed, you have now lost customers. Customers that will spread a bad word about this venue (in particular customer service).

Lovely food and nice decor.We initially phoned to book a table but was told that no tables were available. We went anyway and the place was almost empty.Apparently they use an external agency for the bookings. We mentioned it to the waitress as they may be causing them to lose business.

My visit with my guests on monday 4th April was a most enjoyable afternoon. The choiceof menu was more than adequate. Comfortable surroundings and ample choice of drinks. My guests have visited the Stags Leap before .And when arrangements where being made theywere delighted to know where we would be dining. I would like to take this opportunity to booka table for four people for Saturday 16th April being a Birthday celebration for 2 pm if that isconvenient. I shall await for confirmation from you. We went for a family meal to celebrate our sons birthday. The new menu has lots of choice. We had one of the new menu items plus a couple of our old favourites. The food was cooked beautifully and really tasty. The staff were fantastic too. We tried two of the new puddings and loved them. The pub has such a lovely atmosphere too. Thank you.

Our service was excellent from start to finish. We were seated in an area that wasn’t crowded as requested and served very quickly. All four of us enjoyed our meals and drinks which were very good value and no complaints at all. All around a lovely dining experience :)

Service was good. Table had a snakes and ladders game on which kept us occupied until food arrived. Food was very enjoyable - pudding was particularly good!

Booking was easy online as was the adjustment of numbers using the booking reference. Food was really well priced and delicious. Place was immaculate, service was speedy and the staff were lovely and very good at their job. It was busy and it didn't look too heavily staffed, despite this we had no waiting and the bar and serving staff did a great job of looking after everyone in good time. Please pass on my compliments.

Lovely good. Relaxing atmosphere. And it was my birthday and I got a free desert. And it was presented with happy birthday written in chocolate sauce. Very nice touch.

Very disappointed. Haven't been for ages so thought we'd grab a mid week meal. Walked in and the place was dead. Only a handful in. Where has everyone gone? This used to be packedWe ordered burgers all round as the menu wasn't substantial (actually wanted pizzas but didn't realise there was a separate single piece of paper for pizzas).1 burger was OK, the other 2 not great. One came with a friend cheese slice which was very over cooked. Unedible.Paid extra for curly fries - wish I hadn't have bothered. Think they were children's portions or something.Left feeling hungry and not having a nice eating experience.Atmosphere very dull and cold.Staff were very pleasant but for £65 for a mid week meal (we had wine and a couple of pints each) we won't be going again.

Lovely meal and lovely atmosphere. Food was well presented and well cooked.
