Always loved coming here on a Sunday with friends and family, most weeks there’s 6 of us but some weeks 8/9 eating and drinking. Food average but enjoyed the atmosphere of the pub with the Sunday night quiz. Unfortunately all that has changed and not for the better, yesterday was the last time we’ll be visiting. Finished quiz master without notice and the pub is rapidly going down drain. Shame on you management you had a good thing going and 95% a full pub on a Sunday. We’ll take our custom else where from now on.

Over the past 10 years we've witnessed new staff come and go but the food always seems to stay the same, awful!!We dropped in there on thursday lunchtime, it looked quite nice and reasonably clean and my wife and i decided to stay, in all probabilities the food ought to be decent by now we thought, but alas it wasn't, it was possibly the worst we'd ever had there, we both had the fish, yes it was white and the shape resembled a fish i thought, but no flavour, i don't know what kind of fish it was, also the chips were barely cooked.NEVER AGAIN SHALL WE CROSS THE DOORWAY.Be ashamed Crown.

Obviously it was Father's day and very busy. But the website took my booking no problem. The meal was booked for 2.15pm and we finally ordered at 2.50pm after asking to do so. The staff were very good and apologetic but clearly there was not enough staff on duty.

We were left waiting for 5 minutes on entry as there was no one at the desk - no biggie, but it set the tone. The waitress that served us when seated was lovely but got the drinks order wrong which she corrected without issue. When the food came there were a few things missing and the young lad bringing it out had the personality of a wet blanket. He mumbled, didn't smile, showed no pleasantries at all and if anything came across like we were an inconvenience when questioning where the missing things were. Is he new? He needs training. Finally, the plates the food was served on with the greaseproof paper in the bottom were just tacky - it felt like some American diner rather than an English pub.We visit The Crown often, whether as a family or with friends and often do it in numbers of 7+. We've noticed on our last few visits that standards have dropped and it's unfortunate. There's several 2 for 1's locally that we think we'll be trying soon if things don't improve here.Sorry to be so negative, but you don't expect to spend over ÂŁ100 to have subpar service. Would've spent more but decided to get dessert elsewhere and get out of there. Disappointing.

Wonderful food and service, always greeted with a smile and even though there was a small issue with one of our meals being missed it was rectified quickly and the serving staff were so good about it. The Crown has become our regular destination for both big celebrations and quick lunch dates. Thank you so much to all the team, we appreciate your hard work and professionalism. Oh, and the food is great!

Food and service was good. Thursday lunch time was busy for the staff that were serving but we still very much enjoyed our meals. Our waitress was fantastic and so was the gentleman serving the other tables.

Being totally honest, I really didn't want to go here, the last time we ate here a couple of years ago it was horrendous. However .... I'm very glad we did as the food was excellent. The atmosphere was great, the staff were friendly and happy to help. I had the BEST jam Roly poly I have ever had today. I took one star off because we waited 47 minutes from ordering to being served but we weren't rushed out and greatly enjoyed it.

Food and service was lovely, Dawn was fantastic and couldn’t do enough for us. Good value for money but there is not much on the menu for those with smaller appetites. We all enjoyed our meals

Quick service. All meals bought out at same time which couldn't have been easy as there was 8 of us eating all different meals. Food was hot and cooked well. Cheap enough at around ÂŁ11 per person including a drink. Pub was unusually full too....half term week...that would have made rhings hard so they did well under pressure. All in all, a pleasant and stress free afternoon. Thank you and kind regards, Sam.
