Great food, really tasty. A lot of room, big parking and nice, big garden. 4 stars only because they've forgot about my dessert and I had to ask for it twice. However I will definitely return.

Had the French dip burger. 2 patties with cheese and steak tails. That gravy might be the best sauce I've ever had. Tim Taylor was a delicious fresh cool pint. Friendly attentive staff. Am recommending.

Very good experience for our first visit . Very welcoming staff and lots of space inside and out . Food was of a good standard and portions were just right from the lunchtime menu. Very clean establishment , all areas being cleaned on a regular basis. An enjoyable lunchtime meal and we would definitely recommend this pub to friends.

Nice decor inside and outside. Good menu especially for the meat eaters. There was a seperate vegan/vegetarian menu. I would like to see more choice of pasta meals. Very busy and noisy but the prices were OK.

Service was excellent but the food was only ok!Posh fish finger sandwich was loaded with tarter sauce but it doesn't say so on the menu. I can't stand tartar sauce but the pieces of fish were so tasteless I may have been better leaving it on.Also states comes with crisps? I didn't know what to expect but got a small portion of chips so not too bad considering I only asked for a sandwich.Wife's jacket potato was warm and obviously microwaved but overall tasted ok.Again, the service was good!

I've eaten and drank many times in the red lion as its down the Rd from work and food and service have generally been good. Last week I met up with some old work colleagues for food and drinks and this is where it all goes down hill. 5 of us placed our orders together I had cod and chips so nothing special, it took over 45 minutes for my food to arrive everyone else had almost finished eating by then. We ordered a side of chicken wings. These were disgusting, they looked like they had been boiled then pepper sprinkled on it. The worst fried chicken wings I have ever seen. I have had wings from here in the past and they were not like the things placed in front of me that day. So to put it bluntly I won't be eating here again. The 2 other local pubs will now be getting my custom.

Lovely and clean place. Very friendly staff. Clean toilets. Tasty beverages. For sure I'll come back to try food.

It is a decent place to drink and eat.Bar staff are pretty friendly. Toilets are in dire need of a decent scrub...dirt on the doors where you use your hands.Only downside to this place is the manageress. Loves the sound of her own voice and isn't easy on the eye.Everybody else makes the effort to look tidy apart from her.

The staff were very welcoming and when my order was not properly cooked to my liking they replaced it without any hassle and gave me a drink on the house for my inconvenience. They made me a fresh order which was cooked properly and tasted great. Would definitely go there again as a pub they are cheaper than both brewers fayre for a chargrill steak and the Mount pleasant pub. I would recommend the red lion to anyone wanting something nice to eat in a pleasant atmosphere.

Nice place for a drink. Can get quite busy on friday and Saturday so if you want a quiet one not the place for you. In the week its good. Friendly staff. Remember to put your car registration in at the bar. Toilets could do with an up date. Have had food there before was ok.
