This pub serves really great food, decent sizes and quality. It is dog friendly in some areas and has disabled access ramp at the side. The staff were all very helpful.

Booked to eat here tonight. Was shown to our table which was in the path of a howling gale each time the door was opened. Asked to be moved which they did. We’d been given a menu on arrival - very much reduced from the menus on the website. We eventually were asked for our drinks order - only one real ale on draught and when the waitress brought the drinks she asked for our food order. Only then were we told that the very reduced menu was further drastically reduced. At that point we told the waitress that we should have been told when we were given the menus and we decided to leave. Thanks for spoiling our evening. We won’t be back. Shocking. Take your full menu off your website and at least tell customers on booking that there are only pizzas and burgers and one or two other things left to choose from. You’re supposed to be a restaurant, not a soup kitchen!

Service was absolutely perfect. The pub was nice and warm without being overly hot. However, don't order the fishcakes dish. It's a badly designed dish. Fishcakes made with fish and potatoes, served with more potatoes. The diced turnips in the fishcakes made them too slack and wet.My fiancé's pork belly dish, however, was absolutely spot on. The brandy and apple based sauce was perfect for the slow braised pork. Amazing.Being sat 4ft from the disabled toilet which everyone that side of the pub used, wasn't exactly amazing realky. But that just makes me sound like a Karen! ☺

Friendly and attentive waiting staff but the food left a lot to be desired.I had the Hunter's chicken schnitzel, the BBQ sauce seemed to be tomato sauce with some spices, the chicken schnitzel was tough and dry and the cheese wasn't melted properly, I suspect they put the cheese on top of the schnitzel after it's cooked and rely on the heat of the schnitzel to melt it as opposed to placing it under a grill.I fail to see how so many people have about the place.

Really friendly staff and mostly nice food. The pate Starter portion on the festive start was so tiny for the overall price. The turkey dinner was very nice and a much better portion. Desert was nice again a fair portion, however the Christmas pudding did seem a bit stingyNice atmosphere, will visit again

Christmas day dinner 2021. Meal was excellent thank you. But why did you place us at the far end of the pub, One of our party was in a wheelchair. Of which you knew as told when booked. Our small table was cramped in a corner only laid for 3 instead of 4. The staff were excellent as they were working under alot of pressure as the pub was far to full. And a special thank you to the person who parked over 2 disabled spaces with no badge. I think we will be going else where next year. But the pub is lovely with great food.

Excellent place great service last night and it was such a great evening. The staff tried their upmost and the Manager was as helpful as always. I have to say the experience was lovely food ans drinks on point.

Have been here on many occasions over the years and had a good experience with both the food and service. Today arrived and got taken to a table behind the toilets which I explained I had not booked two months in advance and traveled twenty three miles to sit there only fifteen minutes after they had opened and only one other table taken. The meals chosen came just warm which was the only thing that was as we had to keep our winter coats on like others around us did. The service was very slow and after two hours for just two courses we left feeling was it worth it. NO

We had three dogs with us which the staff accommodated really well, setting us nicely in the corner so we had our own space (actually much appreciated). We all had the pork belly which was faultless - nice portion, bit o’ crackling on the side and a boat of gravy each very tastefully done.Customer service again was top for a country pub vibe.
