Me and my partner came for an early Valentine's Day meal on Saturday 12th February.Although my partner has visited you before, it was a long time before COVID and wasn't sure what we needed to do.My advice is BOOK your table! We walked in and it was very busy, which was really good to see. Some tables had a laminated piece of paper with times on, upon checking this meant we could sit at that table until that time as it had been booked. We sat at a table, which was near the door (that's why you need to book!), we ordered at the bar and waited for our food. Our food arrived (we ordered the mixed grill upgraded with the sirloin and Hunters Chicken) and it was lovely, hot and moist. We also ordered desserts - yummy! They had a couple of open fires which really set the scene and felt like you could almost be in your dining room at home (if you block out all the other people!)The only downside I would say would be that the table was a bit wobbly and the menu was sticky as well. (They were really busy)I feel the plates could do with a really good clean as they were marked with either grease or watermarks from the washer.Overall, we were both really pleased with our experience and would definitely book next time we come!

Disappointed overall. Lovely venue good drinks and tasty food. BUT portion sizes "tiny" as described by my 12 year old daughter, who has a small appetite and commented on by ALL. Family who live locally had perhaps over hyped expectation. Lao being ignored and kept waiting for a pre-cooked table, with booking apparently lost , despite inline confirmation, was not a good start.Lot of room for improvement or just perhaps a bad day.

Not the best place to eat. The waiters were nice. I was served with no servillete. The experience was below my expectation. Could be good for others.

Had a family get together, whilst we were still able to with Covid rearing it's ugly head again. The food wasn't bad, by my fussy tastes. The staff were welcoming, polite and helpful. What really loosed this visit down was lack of social distancing. We has a small table of 4 people far to close to us.And we were cold. We has an 83 years young lady with us. She had to put her gloves on whilst waiting, her hands were so cold. There was a radiator behind us, that wasn't on. At one point I even put my coat back on for a while. The choice of chairs at the tables was not appealing to the eye. One table had 3 different designs of chairs. It looks messy. I'm sure that could easily be resolved. On the whole a good experience, but it could be even better.

Great local pub with excellent food choices and good beer. Plenty of parking behind the pub. When we ate there we had a choice of tables and the food came out quickly. My steak and ale pie was really good and the portion size is generous. Very clean and comfortable place to spend a few hours.Visited again last night, it was busy because of Christmas, but service was very good, staff were friendly and all of the meals were very good.

Catered impeccably for an 18-person Christmas meal last night. Everyone's orders correct and brought out by name to avoid confusion. Good amount of time between courses and nothing rushed. Very impressed. Good food at reasonable prices. Would go back.

I have had some lovely meals here on many occasions and the food and service has been very good. However when visiting recently for a pre booked festive menu the meals were not of the same standard. Veg was hard, meal was just warm and didn't look appetising. The staff were all polite but the issue seems to be the management of staff and lack of training on table service. Basic clearing of tables. The room atmosphere was spoilt by fairly loud music and cold. We didn't complain as we didn't want to cause a fuss. It was a shame as we have had lovely times here with family.

It's been decades since I've been here.Today I had a Tribute. £3.70 and okay. I had a look at the menu and the fixed price menu looks good value for money. An impressive interior with a couple of fireplaces.Apparently, twice a month there's a disco here: first and last Thursday I believe.

Lovely pub, wide array of drinks available including many cask ales on draft. Atmosphere and decor are great, very cosy and relaxed.Staff are friendly and welcoming, and when attending in large groups you can easily book/reserve a table.Looking forward to coming back again!

First time visiting today and would definitely return!Food was delicious at reasonable prices and the pub is really nice.We ordered though the app so didn’t even have to go to the bar to order which is great.Plenty of hand gel around although would recommend one next to the machine where you have to put your reg in.Overall, will definitely be back!
