Nice local cafe, reasonable prices and good food. I had the standard breakfast, came with toast and a drink. We all thought the food was of good quality and tasty. Very friendly staff/owners. Go in give them a try.

The best roast beef in the Midlands. I don’t know how the chef does it but it just melts in your mouth ! I am looking forward too going in sitting down and having some lovely home cooked food again. Big up the ISLAND CAFE!

Delicious quick lunch. Roast beef baguettes and home made chips. Good choice on menu from traditional breakfasts to sandwiches, panninis, omelettes and jacket potatoes. Also specials i.e. lamb shank, pork/beef dinners, fish and chips and burgers. We had takeaway sandwiches during lockdown but great to sit in and enjoy in safe environment.

It was 2pm and this was the only place that was still serving. I didn’t have high hopes with scampi and chips at £5, which was cheaper than the chippy, but I needed a late lunch. What a surprise!!! It turns out that this is the last place on earth which employs a cook who has retained the ancient skill of peeling and slicing a real potato to make fresh chips! Well done, just as good as my mum used to make. A generous lunch, nice peas and a pot of tartar sauce, no sachets, no plastic cutlery, no sticky table tops. Definitely a place to return to. A “Very Good” sticker for the owner.
