The Summerhill in Dudley

We had a lovely experience here a week ago. We were seated and served quickly and our server, Steph, was phenomenal. Very attentive, positive, friendly and she was happy to grab extra sauces and orders for us. Food was lovely and the atmosphere was nice. We are becoming regulars here for a reason!

I ordered a click and collect scampi chips and peasI couldn't believe it when I opened the box the peas had been thrown in the box with the scampi, they were stone cold and the chips were like concrete.I contacted the restaurant and spoke to the duty manager she apologised and said they had no containers. And there was nothing she could do i would have expected a lot betterI wasted £22

We came in as a 4. Booked the table through the automated phone call which was quick and easy. The meal was phenomenal. Excellent service from all staff. Our waiter was called Claire. Really nice lady and was nice that she interacted with the kids. Which is great anyway. I had the ultimate mix grill which I will be honest (was a plate full) aha but yeah was cooked perfect. Asked who cooked the food and they said Owen. Had a great experience and sure will 100% return.

I came in famished and was somewhat worried by how busy it was. I needn't have been.I booked the table @1930 for 2030 ( on a Saturday evening ). Arrived @ 2025, was seated by 2030 and the meal was served by 2055.Both the service and the meal could not have been better. Let that sink in for a minute.... Perfection.Many thanks to all involved in making it such a perfect experience.I am now totally revitalised, ready for tomorrow. In fact I may come back tomorrow for a full English breakfast. Been in twice now since staying at the travelodge next door and the service is great the staff are friendly especially Danni and the food is really nice and very reasonably priced

Still being treated like a child when you have to go to the salad bar, as cannot serve yourself, having to wait for it to be manned it would have been quicker doing it myself, in addition to having lunch for my moms birthday, i asked if we could take out our left over food and salad and was told this is not allowed, so food went to waste, considering the price of meals now this is unacceptable, we also order 2 take out for other members that could not attend due to work, and asked for a salad bowl take out only to be told again that that is not allowed and is chargeable, i was gobsmacked as plaster all over your menu is free salad with any main meal, i will not be going back till these policies have change and will be talking to social media stating this also, very bad experience all round, so spent 73.29 on an experience i will not be doing again. :( how times have changed ,

Very nice staff, good food. Had simply beef burger but really enjoyed my meal and drink. Spacious parking - free of charge.

Great food great price the lady at front desk was lovely very helpful the salad bare didn't have much of a selection but wa since and fresh none the less to honest I shall be returning shortly to try out the breakfasts 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

I've been eating here for, once a month on average for the last 10 years. Over that time, I've had great meals, average meals and the odd bad meal. On the whole you get a lot more good meals than bad. Portion sizes can very month to month. Sometimes you get nice meaty ribs and sometimes you get a pile of bones. I feel that for the prices, you can't grumble too much. If I've ever had a bad meal, and I inform the waiter/waitress. They do try there best to put it right. At busy times service, can be slow. But on the whole service is generally good.

Went for early evening meal. We were seated at a table near a very, very hot radiator. The young lady, Jess, who was our waitress, very kindly turned off the heater, unfortunately the radiator held it's heat for the rest of our stay. That aside we ordered our food, 2 steaks and 3 chicken dishes. The breast of chicken I had was okay but had a 'skin' over it that was quite hard, I think it was overcooked, it had been cooked with the skin off. There was no salt in the the salt pot, no napkins on the table and when ordering our desserts not enough cutlery was brought to our table. The only saving grace was my pud...oh my goodness...the waffle with ice cream, strawberries and fudge sauce was outstanding 👌. I have visited this pub in the past and feel that it's being neglected slightly. Jess was an amazing member of staff. Thank you Jess.👍
