We really enjoyed ourselves in this very friendly inn. The food was good and the staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved the roaring fires.

Called in here for lunch after a walk around Barbon Manor Estate. A friendly welcome from the landlord who invited us to sit in the garden area which is a pleasant space. Very attentive service, we were given a run though of the food available that day and we served drinks including water for our dogs. Enjoyed an excellent roast beef sandwich and home cooked chips which was just just what we needed after our walk. A great spot in beautiful surroundings away from the crowds of Kirby Lonsdale... Recommended!

Nice enough place just had lunch, menu a bit limited and prices a bit too high for what you actually get.

The rooms were very comfortable and had a cosy feel to them. The en-suite bath was a nice touch after a long day of walking. Food couldn’t be faulted (fish and chips and the best breakfast). The staff were so lovely and accommodating on behalf of the bar staff and the runnings of the hotels. Would definitely choose to come back here should we ever be back in the area. Only slight issue was a ‘humming noise’ which was fairly loud while staying in room 5. We think it to be the extractor fan in the kitchen but the noise did stop at 10pm.

Room 1 was very draughty and cold gaps round windows . 80pound was a bit pricey for the standard of room ..the pub its self is very good .food was good as was the beer also no cupboard or TV.

Made to feel very welcome after a good day walking, lovely fire going to warm you up,food looked really good although we didn't try it.

·

Such a warm friendly welcome from the establishment and the locals. A roaring fire an so clean and cosy. we had a lovely warm beef sandwich with chips. will highly recommend this place.

·

Obviously busy and short staffed. But couldn't have been more friendly. Very tasty sandwich in front of an open fire . Just what we wanted.

·

Didn't stay overnight, but did stop for drinks and food. I had to leave a review just to say how wonderful and welcoming the staff were here! Will definitely be back!!

Stayed nearby in holiday accommodation. Place was recommended in holiday literature. Went for a special meal to celebrate a night away without our children and husband getting the all clear from cancer. We dressed up but would have been more comfortable in jeans and a jumper. We were given the choice of being wedged up to a wall by a walk through to the kitchen next to a chap with a dog and a couple with a lively toddler (this wss the main room by tge bar as you go in.through the door) or on our own in the next room. We chose the next room which was quiet but chilly. They lit the fire for us but I kept my coat on throughout as it was cold without it. The menu was basic with no steak option. I had pie which was perfectly adequate pub grub. Husband had fish and chips. The staff were very pleasant which was the redeeming feature.
